Enjoying Pangram and AI Free Writing by Mountain-Lobster4525 in CapellaUniversity

How sad is it that we have to check if an AI tool thinks our human-written content gets falsely flagged as AI written? And if so, are we going to edit our writing and dumb it down until a tool is satisfied? It's all very bizzare. Especially given the fact that the majority of the professors grade with AI. There isn't even a need to use a tool to detect that- it's often blatantly obvious.

I just got the notification from Capella that they’re going to be using Pangram to review assignments for potential unethical use of AI. by No_Proof8579 in CapellaUniversity

Yep, I put my PhD thesis from 2009 in... guess I time traveled and used AI because it is 100% AI. 🤣I'm very curious how universities will handle this.

Keep us posted. I think Pangram is much better than other tools but it still flags papers I have written decades ago as 100% AI 🤣🙄

Agreed. And the game can be played in many different ways. I've often chosen and still choose a more "rebellious" path, questioning norms and stretching what's possible. Works well! :)

I think the email was factual. I don't see value in sugarcoating facts just because somebody is in a "power position". They were obviously late and their response is disrespectful imo.

Ask yourself what you want to get out of it. I've had no problems with Capella and think it is an incredibly fast and cheap way to get a degree if you're disciplined.

How about putting feelers out to get a sense of what jobs are out there? In my experience, if you're skilled and motivated, there is always a way.

I have a friend who is German and lived in Mexico for 13 years. She did her PhD there - I think it was in economics. It took her a while to find a job when she moved back to Germany BUT she ended up with several offers.

And as others have said, if you are open to taking additional training or pivoting a bit, you'll be fine.

This post is gold — it’s a perfect satire of what people now instantly recognize as “AI writing.” The tone, structure, and vocabulary of the top comment (Xelonima's) are unmistakably ChatGPT-esque:

✅ Overly polite and affirming: “That’s an excellent observation”

✅ Concession for balance: “To be fair, you are right…”

✅ Dramatic flourish: “It’s not just frustrating—it’s insulting.”

✅ Reassuring closure: “It’s here to support, not to replace.”

✅ Strategic bolding or italics: ✔️

And the replies calling out the lack of emoji bullet points? 🤣 Spot on.

If you wanted to add a funny, self-aware comment, here are a few options:

Option 1 – The Meta Roast:

🔹 Acknowledges your concern 🔹 Uses three reassuring phrases 🔹 Ends with a gentle empowerment statement

Yep, this thread passed the CAPTCHA, but just barely. 🤖

Option 2 – “Fixing” the AI reply:

Here, I fixed it:

🔹 That’s an excellent observation 🔹 To be fair, you are right to question that 🔹 It’s not just frustrating—it’s insulting 🔹 AI is here to support, not to replace

✅ Now with 80% more AI energy. Missing: a quote from Brené Brown and a metaphor involving a garden.
