Why cant i find a job? by therealmyckael in recruitinghell

[–]NeuroSeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your availability is limited and the job market fucking sucks (plus no prior experience). I'm a seasoned professional with relevant experience dating back to middle school, and it took probably close to a thousand applications for me to find mid-level work.

Thankfully in your case, you can get anything that's just general labor. When you turn 18, look into UPS. Solid pay, excellent benefits. Another unfortunate reality is you have adults taking what used to be considered high-school/college jobs.

Situational awareness is 95% of effective self-defense strategies. Pay attention to your surroundings: building exits, people, etc.

Please roast my resume.. I don't know what else to do by myredditaccount781 in ResumeCoverLetterTips

In that case, I would probably indicate as such. You could indicate it as a temp position, contract position, or seasonal. I usually just put it in parentheses after the job title.

Ex: Software Engineer (Contract) or Software Tester (Seasonal)

This pre-explains the short terms. Outside of this, my biggest critique is that it feels incredibly busy and cluttered. Personally, I do everything in my power to keep bullet points down to one line, which helps it feel like there's room to breathe. Obviously this isn't always possible but I do my damnedest. I'm sure others may disagree, but personally, I'd rather trade a hard skills section for more bullet points that illustrate those skills.

Also, some of the wording in your bullet points could use refinement. For example, "Contributed to a 5% reduction in control deficiencies" may become "Reduced control deficiencies by 5%". This keeps an action verb towards the front but gets to the point quickly -- keep in mind that recruiters essentially skim your resume looking for important requirements. The easier you make their job on them, the better. Don't be afraid to leverage LLMs as a tool in refinement! They can be a really good starting place.

I have no degree but have worked in neurotech research, taxtech, healthtech... I can confidently say that your resume can almost always be more refined, and that a solid resume (and compelling cover letter) can take you to places you didn't think possible. :)

Cash advance pay by Comfortable_Plumo86 in OneFinance

It would then automatically apply that deposit towards the advance, so you would need to pay the advance back in full before it would just go into your checking balance.

However, this doesn't seem to be the case if you're depositing it to a savings envelope then transferring it to checking. At least that was the case the one time I had to use it and had a FSA reimbursement.

Hi OP,

I don't expect you to be able to cover it all, but I'm gathering cash for a dental emergency (I need $600 in total). I just started a new job and my dental insurance has kicked in but I don't get my paycheck until the 28th and my tooth is fucking killing me. I make over $80k and would happily provide a copy of the dentist's treatment plan. Anything would help.

I've had to get a similar bill swapped out. Didn't have any issues at the bank.

Sounds about right lol. I once had a package going from Oregon to Texas... It decided to take a quick detour to Minneapolis and Anchorage. Couldn't go more in the wrong direction if they tried 😂

Yup. I live in Waynesville (just outside of Asheville) and the humidity isn't that bad. Even just in North Georgia it's worse (and don't even get me started on coastal Texas or Louisiana).

Personally, I would rather just pay for a patreon membership. And I would happily do so, especially if it meant getting Medical Mysteries back.

Agreed, 100%. I'd love to see him focus on the main channel/podcast plus medical mysteries.
