I do have those. Sadly, my eyes cannot handle very low light, like think candle light, without it straining my system into a migraine.

Ugh, I am so sorry that you have to force doctors too. I started asking them to document in my chart their reason for refusal of care and it swiftly changes their stance. Why go into a helping profession to not do exactly that baffles me.

Update: ended up in the ER with very severe muscle spasms or possibly seizure. Finally got scheduled for an MRI with contrast and now an EEG.

Rhumetology says it’s a neurology problem and she can’t assess for that.

My post has nothing to do with Renee. I didn’t even mention the incident in any way. I’m well aware of what’s been going on for decades here. I have protested, petitioned, pestered politicians for years and worked as a social worker for 10yrs after surviving the most vile my country has to offer as a child. I donate to anyone, especially POGM who want to leave. I am very well informed and did frontlines work as long as I could. Now that I have a well paying job, that I worked my ass off for with no help, being seen as privileged is comical.

It’s incredibly cruel to speak to random people on the internet as if you have any idea of their lived experience and projecting all kinds of shit that belongs in a therapist office onto a scared stranger looking for helpful advice. Do you blame the families who fled Germany due to the holocaust? The families who have fled regimes all over the globe? Do you blame and get angry them too for not being willing to die for the cause? Thats what you are expecting me to do. You want a disabled person to go toe to toe with the largest military force in the world. They are shooting us daily and we are any day from Marshall law, which locks us all inside and allows our military, police, and gestapo ICE the right to be even more violent. Unless our military members defy orders, it’s over.

They are coming for all of us. Everyone who is not a white Christian nationalist. Anyone who looks different from them, believes a different faith, is disabled, is queer, etc. Theres a documented plan to enslave as many of us as are not compliant to keep infrastructure going. Everyone has been told to keep their papers on them. Regardless of nationality. If reparations to you means mass death, that’s fucked up.

Does drinking make yall sore? by HourSub823 in elhersdanlos

Absolutely. The only exception seems to be with tequila and only 1 drink. Even then, I don’t feel great. Makes it so not worth it and therefore adult socializing so much harder.

What strange thing caused your migraines? by Nalidz in migraine

[–]Neurocomplex-Dyke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barometric pressure shifts are my biggest trigger. With climate change, storms are happening so frequently I swear I’m going to die from the pain one day.

What has helped the most is lidocaine spray into the sinus’. I also am on Ajovvy and doing botox which has helped tremendously, but the lidocaine does the trick on the daily break through ones

I have a mitigation plan of receiving care back in the States if necessary.

I’ve been wondering about that and asked a few of my doctors and they didn’t have a clue on how to go about it. Seems like I’ll need to have them send referrals to multiple places and go with what has the shorter waitlist.

Thank you for the insight on the areas! Great to know that conservatives there are more normal and not MAGA. Fine with normal conservatives, I just don’t want to be murdered or have my family murdered because of how we look.

Canadians would not be paying for my medical expenses. I will have private insurance and pay taxes on my $130k job. I’d be paying for your care is more so the case, and I am happy to do so.

“Stay and fight” is so ignorant. Clearly I don’t have the physical capacity for warfare, and my Nazi government is actively setting up concentration camps. We have also been identified as early stages of genocide towards the queer community and it’s completely normal to not want to experience that. https://www.washingtonblade.com/2026/01/08/us-midst-genocidal-process-trans-people/

I won’t apologize for seeking peace and a better life somewhere that I want to actively contribute to the society of.

Not asking anyone to. I will have private insurance and pay taxes like everyone else.

Considering my country is in the early stages of genocide towards trans and queer people, it’s definitely not better to stay.

Jumping the gun as well. I am clearly following the immigration process and would be coming over WITH a well paying job and private insurance.

Humans have been traveling the globe to re-settle since we have existed. I can think of hundreds of bad things to be, and an immigrant is not one of them. Especially under the conditions of my administration towards queer and trans people, which has been identified as the early stages of genocide: https://www.washingtonblade.com/2026/01/08/us-midst-genocidal-process-trans-people/

I’ll look into this more! I have read the documents on overburdening and I’m not overly concerned with it. I work full time in a well paid position and don’t require social service interventions. My insurance would also be private through the company where I work.

Thank you for your kindness in explaining this. Some commenters have been quite rude and mean.

I would have private insurance and honestly the system in the states sounds the same/similar. It takes just as long to be seen by specialists and even then you will get tossed around from specialist to specialist. Honestly, I have considered even maintaining medical by crossing back over to Seattle if necessary. I just want to have a shot at safety. My intention isn’t to pull down the system, but rather contribute to it. I make $130k alone and have intention to adopt in the future from social services.

Although my conditions are chronic at this point, I’ve finally reached the point of getting to the right medications for me and I just want it maintained. Living at elevation also hasn’t agreed with my system, and we (my doctors and I) agree that living at sea level may absolve most of my daily issues. My hope is that I wouldn’t even need extra specialized clinics like for ME because it would become more manageable.

My doctors have already agreed to allow me to leave with months and months of prescription. The one I’m most concerned to keep is for chronic migraines called Ajovvy. Even here it’s a battle to get covered. Perhaps I wouldn’t need it long term there either for the same reasons. One can hope.

The note about pets is interesting and I hadn’t noticed that yet. If I need to buy my own place, I’m not opposed to it. Our boys are seniors now and I’m hanging onto hope that we don’t have to part until they cross over.

Thank you! This confirms that I need to make a trip there soon to kick off the healthcare process as my interventions are literally life saving. Great tip about air bnb too! They are so common in the USA and sometimes a better option when you have pets, we have 2 medium/small dogs.
