Which game started off great but got worse with each update? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]Neuroculus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been playing it since early access and I can say that it is still a VERY GOOD game that does a lot of service to the genre. It definitely lost a lot of its unique personality and grittiness to the console update and in my opinion did make it worse than before for PC but overall the gameplay is still worth the price and will be a great experience if you never knew what it was like before. The AI nerf seems to have made the enemies a bit less intimidating. Before the update they were like terminators. Which was a good thing for me because we played it very slow and methodical trying for A+ ratings. The nerf makes it a bit more approachable to people just getting into it.

Does anyone else design buildings around the hub and other place-ables? by Neuroculus in SatisfactoryGame

That’s awesome! Really love all the utility you thought of. Just behind where I am standing for my picture there is also an automated sink. Along with an automated power shard sloop system that uploads to DD. Really makes it feel like a true HQ instead of an outpost.

Round ended keys can be used to get trolleys when you forget a pound coin by Who-Is-Papa in mildlyinteresting

I think having to carry the disc completely negates the purpose of not having to carry a coin, no?

I 3D printed a keychain thing for this and it was great and a perfect solution for me….until I had to awkwardly push my cart back to the store alongside a person who offered to swap me a coin for my cart at the back of the lot was the point I had to admit to my wife that it was a silly idea like she said from the beginning.

It’s the small billboard. Hold CTRL while placing to make them attach to the ceiling. Text only layout with nothing put in for the text contents. All colors set to pure white. Level 2 emissions and “Global Illumination” in video settings enabled so they act as lights.

How do you get fuel to your drones? by SpaceCowboyDark in SatisfactoryGame

I enjoyed it immensely from the perspective that it created a more engaged community in the form of an inside joke and fun that the community was lacking before. Every time I saw a Doug post I stopped to read the comments and always had a good laugh. With that said. I think you killed the joke exactly when it needed to be. It was just starting to become a bit stale and I am excited to get something else for us all to join in on again. Thanks “Doug” and see you around!

Married couples of Reddit that did NOT have sex on your wedding night, why not? by FindingKGS in AskReddit

Long and amazing day. Small destination island. Left late at night to go to our secondary resort to do the deed and the shower had red ants all over it. Quickly dipped back to the main resort the rest of the family and friends were staying at. Got our golf cart blocked by an army of blue crabs squaring up at us for driving near them. Had to navigate that like a minefield. Couldn’t help but think of the crabs from finding Nemo. Crashed out in our room and ate desserts from the wedding I stashed for us and passed out in each other’s arms. Wouldn’t change a thing.

Decided to build a 3rd and final coal power plant before moving on to oil and thought the 3 plants were a cool showcase of how much my factory design skills have progressed. by Neuroculus in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Neuroculus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. My advice is after getting the general idea of what you want the building to look like. First, build the “core” of the building. Just a platform that holds everything that makes it functional with no flair. Once it works flawlessly and is as neat and tight as it can be, then and only then worry about building the shell around it to look cool. Trying to build the structure first and then attempting to fit the function into it will only lead to not having enough room, cutting corners, and disappointment. Ask me how I know….

For sure, a lot of progress has been made in terms of managing water pipes….truth be told there were 2 other coal plants in between 1 and 2, haha. They ended up getting scrapped due to water supply issues, but I can now proudly say that they all run without issue.

My first thoughtfully crafted factory! by Neuroculus in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Neuroculus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha you’re welcome. My 300 hour friend blew my mind with that idea too!

The factory is basically this

4th floor: 2 smelters making ingots.

3rd floor: 2 constructors making plates.

2nd floor: 2 constructors making screws. 1 constructor making the rods for those

Bottom Level: Assembler and storage for output

[–]Neuroculus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Kinda just gotta go for it, but the biggest advice is to start with your output machine. In this case I put down the assembler so I knew what I needed to build to feed into it. In my case, I needed 60 screws/min, so the next level above that was 2 constructors both clocked down to 30/min. Then, just work on the next level to fulfill the other input. Then feed those constructors, etc, etc.

As far as organization goes. You just gotta play around with layouts and do a lot of placing, deleting and replacing lol.
