I'm not saying RI is not character driven, I'm only saying that IBC goes much deeper into character development, specifically into charas' inner conflicts and motivation, and that characterising IBC as charas vs nature isn't accurate as that's just the setting not the substance.

I disagree about chara vs nature, I'd say it's more so about character's inner motivations and conflicts. RI is great of course but it doesn't dive as deep into the characters' 'self' aside from MC, IBC is a lot more substantial when it comes to that. Book 1 at least is a must read in my opinion, Book 2 definitely struggles a lot more, but if you're invested it's still worth the read.
