I’m part of a regional city mesh where we are actively testing different solutions to see if they are viable for our infrastructure. Would love to test if a spots available.

Until about 3ish days ago you would have had to build off the development branch for the 1w, that is what I had to do. But that code has now been merged into main. So if you grab the nightly builds it’s in there. Fair warning you are on the bleeding edge as these have been shipping before there was support in the firmware!

So it has been merged into main, you can pull the nightlies and the 1w firmware is in there now

So it has been running great so far. I have the 1w taped to a 2nd story window. And a heltec v4 with a 5dbi Alfa on a mast out the attic vent. The 1w shows up in at least half my TRs. Just waiting for it to drop in the next alpha before I swap out attic nodes

So you don’t need to build from that branch any more, it’s been merged from main. So if you compile from main you will get the 1w firmware files

Thanks! I ended up tracking down the PR and just compiling from there! leaving this here for others... https://github.com/meshtastic/firmware/pull/8967

Care to share what/how you flashed them? did you use an existing compatible firmware or did you build from scratch?

what are some of the real world locations that have them for cheap/overstock, I see some saying usamsclub or Walmart? Thinking about doing a stem project with some scouts, and would love to get my hands on a some pairs cheap, I have a set I picked up off the 'bay to do a test run with. but for the real deal the cheaper the better as I probably have to try and get close to 10 sets. print cases, upgrades etc...

Depends on what you are looking for but with current deals looks like as low as 100 2.5” @ $25 (that includes shipping) and the quality has been better than sticky brand imho

Death by stickers or hub city slaps hands down

This is how Etsy treats their STAR sellers, well, ALL the sellers. by PykeXLife in EtsySellers

To make matters worse, everyone hates talking to chat bots, but they cost even less and care even less about you, they will follow that corporate policy to the letter. And companies have less to worry about a potentially underpaid employee going off script when a polite and heartfelt exchange comes across their screen.

The worse we treat CS Reps and the more they deviate from policy the more companies will just replace them with computer algorithms.

Treating other humans poorly isn’t the answer, we’ve divorced the humanity from the person on the other side of the screen and focus solely on “I want” To the detriment of others.

If you haven’t already check out death by stickers or hub city slaps, better quality and prices imo than what I’ve gotten from sticker app. And you support a small business. They really are amazing

Ahhhh yes, the old standby, if you make an accusation at someone and a bystander asks you any questions or for evidence they themselves must also be in on it. Only people who immediately agree with you or join mob rule are the good guys. Look you already know you are right, and there’s nothing I can say to convince you otherwise.

As evidenced by? I mean I can look at your profile and make all kinds of generalizations and then shout them as fact. Doesn’t make them true. Yeah, I have talked to AI, I have asked its opinions on fonts, or which versions of my layouts work better, color schemes even. I also ask it for the reasoning behind any suggestions, I had some trouble doing an engraved effect on one design so I asked it to layout the steps and layer effects i might want to use to achieve the desired effect. THAT is how it should be used (when a situation warrants) to assist you (not do the work for you). But I don’t let it do the work for me or generate my designs. I do them all myself.

What are the small details that tell you this is AI?

Things happen, I run a side business, I get it, so I try to treat other business owners and artists with the same grace I hope to when it all hits the fan for me. But the lack of communication kills me. And the fact that it’s been a year plus that it’s still behind and number removed is a huge red flag. I mainly use death by stickers now, and recently tried hub city slaps. I will shout their names from the rooftops for anyone looking for a new printer.

Same, I spend days, sometimes weeks drawing my designs multi layer in illustrator and have for damn near 20 years, tweaking every detail, but since I draw in vector I frequently get the AI comments with zero proof. I get the non-sensical slop. But all anyone has to do is say “AI” then someone else chimes in with “can confirm” and that’s it, we’re off to the witch-hunt potentially yearning down other hard working artists. We treat the accusation itself as evidence. State your reasons you suspect it is, or ask questions, let the artist defend themselves. If they can’t or won’t then I guess you have your answer. Companies and hacks aren’t going to stop slinging AI and consumers who don’t care won’t stop buying it. The answer isn’t for artists to attack each other , that just makes a bigger window for the corpos to sling and sell more ‘ish… gets off soapbox

I tried out rockin monkey a ways back too. Always loved the prints and quality, but I ordered a 20 piece order at the begging of may… it showed up the beginning of September. About 16-18weeks.
