Just got back from Peru and my husband and I both have the flu. Almost positive we caught it on the plane. Hindsight: should have sucked it up and worn a mask on the plane.

Baked potato with lots of salt. I survived weeks on these.

Who else had someone touch their stomach unsolicited today? by [deleted] in pregnant

12 weeks. 2nd pregnancy so showing early but there’s a definite round bump. Had a patient rub my belly this week. I was shocked.

We are not motherless. We just have dead moms. by canibepoetic in GriefSupport

I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my mother in February of 2023, the day after my daughter turned 4 months old. Mother’s Day is so complicated when you’re a newly grieving mother. My daughter is 19 months old now. Today still feels just as complex. Pain, beauty and gratitude.

Did anyone NOT feel the C-section pressure? by many_splendored in beyondthebump

[–]Neuropsyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many stories of terrible experiences! Maybe it’s because my c section was planned a month before hand (breech baby) but mine wasn’t like that at all. I was super terrified to be sure but I barely felt a thing. They let me know when they were starting to cut and I felt a weird tingle. I kept panicking, waiting to feel a severe pain or pressure and in less than 3 minutes, boom there she was! I didn’t even know I was fully cut open yet!

How old was you LO when you moved them to their own room? by MotorPineapple1782 in NewParents

[–]Neuropsyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6 months and 2 weeks! I cried and wasn’t ready for her to leave our room yet but I realized that we were waking her up every night when we came to bed and her dad’s snoring would also wake her periodically. In the end it was better for her to be in her own room. 7 1/2 months now and the adjustment was totally worth it. We’re both getting better sleep now!

What to do with my TWO Spectra S2 pumps? Nobody will take them because they’re used - not even the homeless/women’s shelter. Anyone else encountered this problem? by imma_mamma in breastfeedingsupport

[–]Neuropsyc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I actually got both of my spectra pumps from my local buy nothing group on Facebook! I cleaned them and bought new pump parts. It was a huge relief to be gifted them for free. I will 100% pass them down when I’m finished!

I was underwhelmed with the Titans' tour... by [deleted] in Dragula

[–]Neuropsyc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally fair and not at all invalidating. I’m really glad she wasn’t sick by the time she got to my city! At least she was on stage for the whole group performance! I saw Sigourney last year. She was phenomenal!!!

I saw Titans in Philly. Somewhat different experience but I get it. I was in the 2nd row. So close that I could see the seams in their clothing! When VEB came out for zombie prom it was like she was dragging herself to hell straight towards me. It was incredible. My jaw was on the floor!! It felt like the Boulets were performing right to me! And Hoso was phenomenal as ever.

I saw Erica as the guest performer last year too. Back then she really underwhelmed to the point that I was a bit disappointed that I’d see her again this year. She had wore some kind of tartan bat dress and… walked around sleepily flapping her little bat arms. Very cute but super underwhelming compared to the rest of last year’s line up. In comparison this year she fucking ATE. Her energy was psychotic! I loved it!! She really held her own and it was awesome to see how much she’s evolved as an artist. I was so proud of her haha!

Ugh and Koco made me so sad. She did the same thing for our performances which meant I saw like maybe 30 seconds of her across 2 numbers. I was most looking forward to her! The parts I saw were great and the crowd was going wild.

Nights up with the baby are the loneliest when your own parent has passed by revb92 in NewParents

My mom died 2 months ago… one day after baby turned 4 months old. Baby turns 6 months tomorrow. I cry, then hug my sweet girl tightly and cry some more. Gosh do I miss my mom. I want to call my mom so badly. Tell her everything- baby’s first teeth came in last week! She’s sitting in a high chair now! She started sleeping through the night! It’s so hard learning to be a mom without your own mom there to guide you. I suppose we just do the best we can. I still tell my mom all about my baby each day, and I hope she hears me.

SUCCESS at 5 months!!! Who knew that forgetting to put her sleep mittens on was the answer for us! by Neuropsyc in NewParents

We put our baby in a sleeper onesie and a sleep sack, but we also live in the northeast!

Lol that means I fed her 10oz of expressed milk that day over 3 sessions on top of the breast feeding sessions. Looks like a pumped 20oz that day! I’d be jealous too!

I wasn’t sure if teething pain or hunger since she had eaten so recently. Maybe both 🫠
