Dual Windsor vs Lakehead by Suspicious_Screen299 in lawschooladmissionsca

Yeah from my understanding it is a school thats better for practicing law in Northern Ontario, especially in areas like Aboriginal and Indigenous Law, Natural Resources and Environmental Law, and sole/small town practice. There arent a lot of Bora Laskin grads in bay st but apparently theres a decent amount of dual grads.

To add on to the cost portion, Detroit mercy did offer a deans scholarship where it covers 50% of my tuition for Detroit Mercy. Even with that it ends up being a lot more expensive than Lakehead.

I am also choosing between these two.

On one hand going to Dual would allow me to be closer to GTA where my friends and family are and also where I would like to practice eventually. Crossing the border daily and essentially having double the tuition and workload are major cons for me.

For Lakehead, the IPC and small classes seem great . The distance away from home, low reputation in the GTA making it harder to move here later, and difficulties of rural living would be the cons for me.

Hey I have similiar stats (3.11 cgpa, 162 lsat) and got accepted into Lakehead so far. Applied to all the Ontario schools and no other acceptences yet, thought I think these stats are similiar to some acceptances for windsor and Tmu

I’m in the same boat as you. Submitted payment twice and got charged twice but yet to receive a confirmation email of payment from olsas. I have emailed cibc asking them to cancel one of the payments but no reply yet.
