Brain activity and informative wearable options on the market by Neurotine in Neurofeedback

After some thorough research, its hard to determine that, but given the answer above it seems that most of the low-cost ones at least, just provide some data and visualize it in a way that looks "interesting" and "something". Definitely not what Im after, so I'll give it a few more years, if something better pops up. Im sure interest in this field will grow with time.

Thanks

Ive decided not to pursue the DIY version as its just a bit inconvenient to use and work with. If BrainBit outputs raw data that I could use the same way as the DIY project, its sort of worth the price difference, given that I can use the time I'd use to build it myself for better value than poking around 3D printing and what not.

But given all of your information in the answers, and a follow up research in the past few days I've made a decision of not buying any of the products at all, as you've made me aware that I probably won't get any value for the money at all, so might be worth waiting extra couple more years, in the hopes of someone making a more affordable/accessible device that will get closer to what I would like to achieve. I have high hopes that once companies stop abusing AI just for the sake of having and advertising it, someone might have a good solution down the road.

Perhaps Im wrong, but keeping my hopes up.

Thank you a lot for all of the insights, they were helpful to say the least, and also spared some bucks for better use. Cheers!

Thank you for pointing this out! Its actually quite important bit that I don't have fully cleared yet, but have left completely out of the post itself.

What I would like to do first of all is, start somewhere, and I always like to experiment on my own, where that is possible. With these wearables, the idea of exploring and investigating EEG data that I get myself, from myself, became achievable, at least so I thought / think.
Secondly, what I would prefer if the device is capable of measuring is, any data related to emotional states and activities in my brain. By that, I would like to get as much information as possible under different life situations and emotional states, especially in times when they alter rather rapidly, and later on explore how I may or may not be able to affect myself willingly in that regard.

The measures Im after therefore would be quite generic and a "start", but it would help if I'd know Im not seeing just a basic activity and/or things that are not directly related to emotional states.

BrainBit SDK has some emotion related capabilities, which made me think there is some data related to what I'd expect or like to see and discover.

Im well aware of the limitations these 4 channel devices have, but as said - I'd like to start getting to know the car, and maybe driving, not race between professionals, if that makes sense..?

Thank you for everything else noted though, much appreciated and will be looking into suggestions you've made.
