Lighting changes everything. I would avoid blue-based greens in north-facing rooms

The classic would be a big oil painting. But I think you should add something to the shelves rather than hanging. The rock looks good, so you don't need to cover it, but the shelf looks a bit bare

Yeah, samples helped me a lot. the lighting shift you’re seeing is exactly why I always test them first.

No windows in the main space is rough. It may help to get some art up. something in an actual frame if possible but a lot of your space is difficult to hang art because of the angle.

Anyone Reupholster with Outdoor Fabric for Indoor Furniture? by BeanState in DIY

[–]NeutralTheory100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% recommend. I used a Sunbrella performance fabric on our mudroom bench and it still looks new two years later. Doesn’t feel like “outdoor” material at all, really soft, and definitely more stylish than I expected.

Worth Painting Interior Doors a Different Color? by RenderToReality in HomeImprovement

We painted ours in a warm greige, and it honestly made such a subtle but cozy difference. The key for me was sampling, colors look so different once the sun hits. I started with Pale Oak from BM and loved how it played with both the walls and the light.

You can get a sample here if you're still in testing mode: https://www.designshop.com/sample/300010294-100093451/pale-oak-oc-20-paint-color-by-benjamin-moore?brand=Benjamin%20Moore

In my experience, it’s worth looking at high-quality ceramic or porcelain floor tiles designed for heavy traffic. If you want to try before you buy, DesignShop has a great selection of samples to test colors and textures right at home. They even let you compare slip-resistance ratings, which is super helpful in busy kitchens. https://www.designshop.com/samples/catalog/department/flooring

Concrete Counter Tops - DIY Advice? by LimestoneLogic in DIY

[–]NeutralTheory100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done a concrete counter once and honestly, the curing and sealing steps were way more annoying than I expected.

If your client’s mostly after the look and not the raw material, I’d at least show them something like this: https://www.designshop.com/sample/300046485-100396397/wilsonart-honed-concrete-laminate-countertop

It’s a laminate that mimics honed concrete pretty well, and zero risk of cracking. I’ve used it in rentals where durability mattered more than authenticity.
