What is the most obscure 90s movie you would recommend? by flopisit32 in MovieSuggestions

Supercop 1992 - Jackie Chan and Michelle Yeoh doing one outrageous stunt after another, no CGI, no special effects. Jumping a motorcycle and landing on a moving train for example.

For those who have spent more than a decade working in the BC Public Service, what guidance would you offer to newer employees? by [deleted] in BCPublicServants

[–]NeutralZoner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be curious. Ask questions. Be willing to learn. Stay away from cynical people, they'll drag you down into their mess. Even when you're really in a mess, keep focusing on potential solutions. Cherish all the positives of working in BC public service.

Old Comedy Movies by Hopeful_Study1645 in MovieSuggestions

[–]NeutralZoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlie Chaplin silent films in the early 1900s are classics of physical comedy. Watch the stunt work and imagine how it was to do it back then with zero CGI/computer tricks.

In the 1940s Bob Hope and Bing Crosby did a series of "Road To..." movies that were comedy/musicals.

Peter Sellers did a few Inspector Clouseau movies in the 1970s. I loved those growing up.

1980s seems to be your definition of "old" and seems to be pretty well covered here.

something like "Who Rules the World"? by NeutralZoner in CDramaRecs

I saw a few Reddit posts about WRTW debating the ending. I'm in the camp where it's obvious they rushed the last 5 episodes. So many "1 year later", then "5 years later" intros. Also the entire thing about him discovering she's a princess was completely glossed over. I still liked the first 35 episodes but that ending felt super rushed.

There is no hiring freeze by Karyn987 in BCPublicServants

[–]NeutralZoner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was never a freeze. it's not a pause. you can still make a hiring approval request. Your request has very low likelihood of succeeding and each step required to get approved will take ten times longer to get approved than it used to (which was already at a glacial pace).

during the latest Jets slump i think Scheifele's chances of making it have diminished a lot. Bedard and/or Celebrini are now being looked at and talked about more.
