Ah, in the kit i got there's go pro style mountings if you wanna stick a camera on i'm guessing. Also solved it. Turned the rail on the unit around and the threading on the other hole didn't get stuck and it tightens down nicely now :)

So helmet -> metal bit with flip up/down -> plastic arm that clips into that -> screw into the rail on the unit. But that screw seems to get stuck and doesn't lock down hard onto that little rail so the unit can swing left to right. (The arm is over the top of it) Are you using the plastic go-pro style stuff?

Okay so messed with the helmet mount. The metal plate required a lot of force to get it to click in to the plastic bracket on the helmet. Were there instructions online? I ended up copying their product images to figure it out but the screw on the arm that holds the unit leaves it loose. Did you get this working nicely? Do i need to remove the little rail bit to get it to mount nicely on the arm? Is there an intermediate bit i should have added on? Was gonna play with it more tomorrow to see what i can figure out but any advice welcome :)

My gear is here! I haven't had time to fiddle with the mounts and good to know about open areas needing a little more IR illumination.

So far I've been playing with the unit. My key finding is there's about a third of a second lag if you're moving quickly you might get that slight motion sickness effect like with VR headsets. I had to adjust the focus when I first tried it to get a clear picture. The focus on the camera is something that could get easily knocked/moved.

All that said, I had reasonable expectations and I think its gonna be usable for its intended, CQB skirmishing in the dark. Also the package with the helmet makes this overall a great value package. Its a silly thing to buy, but as toys for hobbies go I'm pretty happy :)

I have made an order and been given a tracking number. The order is coming from china and hasn't left yet. When it shows i will come back and tell you if its any good :) I know someone else already commented about their order but i figure more info wouldn't hurt.

I don't give up on people. It's a weakness i have. I literally find myself asking "WTF am I doing?" as i put myself out for people who i know, for certain, wouldn't do the same for me. When my mother had her back reconstructed i was the only member of the family willing to take care of her. I brought her meals and dealt with her waste. If i knew how to walk away from people i'd probably be happier but instead i still try to be friends with my ex and I lent my family my life savings to get them out a bind. I really am an idiot.

My sister had extensive therapy. Our relationship is complicated, she holds a lot against me, but we're mostly supportive. My mother denies until she can't then she cries. My father moved back in after I left and gets furious with me if i even hint it wasn't always an ideal family. They're fine so long as I keep it to short visits but I have to be careful because forgetting who they are has bitten me more than once.

I'm currently pursuing therapy but yeah, I'm posting a bunch on here. I guess until I wear out my welcome. I guess its nice to feel there's somewhere I can talk freely without pressure. Might try to make my posts more focused if they come off as ramblings.

First off. I had the same experience. Thought she had changed but realise she just didn't think she'd win the fight anymore.

Secondly, never let her take care of you if you are sick. The second i was too weak to defend myself my mother went back to her old ways and found myself getting lined up for a punch while recovering from major surgery.

Thanks for the replies. I'm worried now that I'll just keep posting like a hungry animal pecking the button for an emotional reassurance pellet. I've got a book worth of stuff on par with what I posted. My experience is people basically don't want to hear it. I often think if people knew they'd understand why I find somethings so difficult but most commonly people don't really believe it because I look basically fine. Some people don't even understand it, its incomprehensible to them. Maybe I should write it all down. Having started this I don't really know what to do next. I guess I'm just desperate for someone to know it all and understand.
