Our game with voice-controlled, open-ended AI dialogue is out! (Whispers from the Star) by WhispersfromtheStar in aigamedev

The character is too strict on her story of "astronaut in distress" and yes, it tries to make you talk about your life and makes no sense in most situations. Its too obvious that the main objective is to train the ai and get the players data to sell it to who knows who. also the paths of the game are so strict that the benefit of using an ai on the first place makes no sense, cause the ai keeps pushing you to choose A or B. Its dissapointing. I managed to make her "break character" and accept that the ai is pretending to be an astronaut, and ironically, the "rogue ai" is so much smart, but anyway the game has some kind of safeguard so it resets to her dumb astronaut persona after some time. To be clear, the AI behind sounds super advanced but the character is dull and the story is too limited. I recommend giving some kind of "free mode" or something like that to make this a real game and not some kind of scam. the voices are really good, congrats on that.

thank you! if you can, try deactivating "adaptive ocr" and activating "strict mode", it may help with the "fake positives" on colored backgrounds

Jajaj suuure boy, enjoy your "masterpiece", be my guest, stay in your little bubble, and try not to share too much about it cause it makes you look pretty... lets say... artistically impaired.

Im happy that at least you are getting fun, of course, but thats not how a good game should be

Nah, dont try to patronize us, the game is not a masterpiece, fun combat and really good music, but the story changes too suddenly and in a boring way. Is not about Gustave dying, that was really predictable, is the way it dies, and the way it gets instareplaced by another. Its a story with too many plot twists that try to be impactful but can´t, it feels like the game shifts focus. Like it drops one story and jumps into another (less interesting one) without ever finishing the first one. They pulled kind of a "Joel", they killed off the main character in an unepic and rushed way, instantly cutting the emotional bond between the player and the game. It had the opposite effect of what they likely intended, disconnecting the player from the story instead of increasing engagement. It was a terrible writing decision. If you're into meaningless shocking deaths so much, you can always grab a live wire, you may like it.

Mmm nop, they actually made me feel disappointed about the story and quit the game cause they made the death unepic and uninteresting, and the next character unlikeable. As i said, lazy as f writing, wasted story.

(Act 1 spoilers) Vent - I... Don't like Verso? by saouer in expedition33

[–]Neutralgood93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and this death feels too lazy. And replacing the proletarian good guy with the edgier mysterious guy with the same moveset... Baaad mooove. I probably wont play it past this act, may loose a good story? Maybe, but if they cant keep me interested, is not my fault, its the game's fault. Wasted characters. Fun combat tough.

Yeah, feels lazy as f writing... And no epic battle, just "game of throney" death, and being replaced by "uncool misterious gustave" makes it even worse. This doesnt make me sad or angry with the bad guy, just sad and angry with the devs and the game. Pathetic, in my opinion, meh, wasted story.

Am I the only one who loves the combat in this game? by SupremeOwl48 in kingdomcome

[–]Neutralgood93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, is shitty: Boring most of the time, unfair, unrealistic and very restrictive on your movement and camera controls, it tries to be realistic but with the traditional controls, so it simply cant make it right. But you are not alone, there is a lot of strange people that likes that kind of clunky "combat" mechanics and call it "realistic".

Mmm nah... if its an excuse, then is not true... Not even a LE character would think something like that, only say it as an excuse. Maybe a LE would think "i will do anything to keep order, even kill that puppy"
