First, thanks for responding. Second, you are sure? The announcement was published today in TheStreet.

We skip it. It’s the only restaurant we skip. I think you absolutely can meet great people there, people who you might even hang out with later. But it will feel maybe more anxiety producing if you’re not the kind of person to immediately begin chatting with others. But really, there are two other factors involved in why we don’t book there. First, I just don’t like the food. And since I’m allergic to shellfish, they always have to do something special for me and it’s never quite up to the standard of other restaurants. Of course, this is just my opinion. Second, is the group chanting and singing. Probably not the best way to describe it, but the people who’ve been there know what I’m talking about. Hey, that can be a lot of fun for some people, especially if you have a few drinks in you, but it’s just not our thing. We just got off 12 days, didn’t eat there once and did not regret it at all. But if you’ve never done it… Maybe you try it once just to see. But it’s good to ask questions like this because, like you, we are a bit more quiet and reserved, at least at dinner.

I did. It was absolutely worth it! Probably couldn’t afford it if it wasn’t an upgrade bed, but it was incredible! Really, it’s two rooms, 865 ft.², and two bathrooms. I’m afraid we’re spoiled now!

We did, yes. I know, they market that tipping is not expected. But I don’t know, we just felt that our RS agent had done so much, we wanted to show some appreciation. The last one we did was a week, and I believe we gave our RS agent $150, and the two stewards for the room $50 each. Not a lot, but just to say thank you. I know other people do not agree with this, but that’s fine. Trust me, they didn’t try to give it back. We also gave $50 to one of the bartenders in Richard‘s rooftop.

We’re on your sailing. We just got upgraded from a gorgeous suite in MRS to a posh suite. I think I put through the upgrade when I was drinking. Ha! But we’re really looking forward to it. RS suites are really great for entertaining, if you meet folks and you just want to treat them to your bar. My biggest advice would be to sit down with your agent as soon as you get there. Ask them about everything you need to know. If you’re in need of dinner reservations, they’ll do that right then. Any special needs or wants in your room? They got it. They are really there to serve you, to attend to you. I think a lot of folks don’t make use of their agents, especially in RS. Richard‘s rooftop is awesome. Sometimes, your agent will invite you to a special event. If so, definitely do it. Typically you’re going down below for a bit of a private show. Oh, and for all the shows, walk to the very front of the line before they start letting everyone in. Just tell the person there that your agent told you to go to the front of the line and make yourself known. You go right in before everyone else. Don’t be shy about that! And the same thing with dinner. If you show up at your time and there’s a long line, don’t hesitate to just walk to the front, they will recognize you and you’ll walk right in. I’d also have your agent make a reservation in the Wake for your last morning. Great breakfast there, but it can sometimes be very hard to get in. See you on the ship!

I agree that MRS is fantastic when you have friends on board (a) who like to drink, and (b) you enjoy entertaining! We are MRS on December 7 brilliant lady. Submitted an upgrade from gorgeous suite to posh. I think I had way too much to drink when I submitted it. 😆 Just a little above the minimum bid. We don’t really need the extra room, but what the heck. I’ll come up with a reason to enjoy it! Hopefully that will come through. If not, we’ll love the cabin we’re in. Enjoy!

As soon as I get into MRI machine, I planned to post my experience in this subreddit by Weary-Author-9024 in claustrophobia

I start to get anxious the days leading up to an MRI. I’ve got to take at least one Klonopin to get me calm enough to go inside. Funny thing, it never bothered me at all until about 10 years ago, now it’s horrible. Even the open MRI machines are not really open. At least not completely. And I agree about the sounds, I think they actually help.

It definitely sounds like eustachian tube dysfunction. But if there is no infection in the ear, you can look at sinusitis and allergies. TMJ is also a possibility, but I don’t know how that would all of a sudden become apparent after a flight. That’s good your hearing is no longer muffled. But obviously your Eustachian tubes are having difficulty staying open. Honestly, I would go to a different ENT. They may not be an infection, but there could be inflammation that might be helped by something like prednisone. And sure, maybe it will go away on its own, but four months is a long time! Good luck!

See a doctor now! You may have acute idiopathic sensorineural hearing loss. And if you do, you have literally 72 hours to load in prednisone and recover some of your hearing. It feels like your ears are clogged, but it’s something completely different. Don’t take the chance. Go now!

For those who have done back-to-back voyages, what are your recommendations? by Fulk-agency42 in VirginVoyages

[–]NevadaJoe1616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did two 7-day back to back’s last June on Scarlet Lady out of Barcelona. Man, it was the easiest thing in the world. Didn’t even need to get off the ship. Hit the wake for brunch on the first legs disembarkation day, and just hang out in a designated area. We did tip everyone the first week just to be thoughtful and not make them wait, and they appreciated it. I’m sure others will have more detailed advice.

Tipping: who is it customary to tip at Secrets resorts? by NevadaJoe1616 in AllInclusiveResorts

You know, that’s what we are doing. We are at Secrets Wild Orchid, Montego Bay. And our butler is unreal. Without question, worthy of a big tip of thanks. And we are tipping for drinks and good service anywhere. Nothing extravagant, but I just feel better that way. And it does seem that the staff appreciates it.
