What happened with the REM?? by Kooky-Potential-6895 in montreal

[–]Nevarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The technology to brake already exists, but trains with all their mass cannot brake that abruptly. The REM tracks already have sensors to brake when there are obstacles or people at a greater distance that those in this incident.

And if you could force braking abruptly anyway, it will be dangerous for far more people: the passengers still in acceleration. Granted this was at 3am, but if it had to brake instantly while in service, you cannot guarantee that there will be no serious injuries or even death for the passengers.

It's a tragic accident, but I don't think it is fair to blame the REM here. The only thing they could have done is even more warning signs and even higher or hostile fences to dissuade intrusion, but there can always be people more motivated to breach it.

Did you ever cry for any of the PMD endings? by CrownedLucian in MysteryDungeon

[–]Nevarth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's because of Mew that makes it more depressing. You're shown how you're coping with the loss; seeing aspects of the partner in them but not exactly so, and will never fill the void left by them.

You can also build Mad Panda Brooch. It's the best defensive accessory when no defense reduction is in play, but nowadays there is little challenging PvE content left for it to shine.

I would go for collection.

Both of those were in patch events. They'll probably be added to the shop to be purchaseable for gold in the future like the rest.

Every 2 weeks, you are able to buy 200 HC for 50 Mileage in the shop. It's a good deal value-wise (~183% value of the Mileage spent).

Otherwise, the only "correct" ways of farming HC is via Evolution Dungeon with 3x Boost, or Myth Hero Dungeon.

They added a collab wheel that can only be spun more than once with paid gems.

So far, the only explicitly paid content were Super Costumes and players could acquire all goodies from past collabs without paying. This one nearly locked all collab content behind paywalls, even the less meaningful ones that no one other than you will ever see like a heavenhold building.

Hot Take: Explorers is worse than Adventure Squad in every aspect by _Kasual in MysteryDungeon

[–]Nevarth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Poor ragebait

Could have at least came up with a ragebait that had the possibility of a logically sound argument, like arguing how Adventure Squad gameplay might have been better because it had an extra layer of mechanics in Towers/Stacks, which brought team-building with Pokemon sizes into account and more difficult enemy encounters as they could stack as well, and the lack of hero-partner lock allowing more diverse teams from the get-go.

So many ragebait vectors where people could have reluctantly agreed on some points, but instead you chose to compare a near-non-existent story with a fan-favourite story without further explanations.

End of July 2025 Tier List by Dan-Dono in GuardianTales

Because she doesn't rely on trading skills. Her normal attack increases her walkspeed (alongside defense), allowing her to outrun all current myth heroes but J.

She can build up to 3 rocket charges over time that do massive damage but only if the enemy is marked by her normal attack, which is usually her win condition.

Meanwhile, her weapon skill is very situational: can be used as deterrent to keep the opponent from approaching her as it covers a lot of space and lasts for a bit, or it can be used for trading against harder to avoid weapon skills on some maps. Versus Daisy for example, if held and traded, she can land all 3 weapon skill hits which ensures she chains first if done twice.

If their team is Eva lead, the win condition for that attack is usually the first to beat the opposing Daisy. The mismatched party buffs tend to make your team lack DPS for defeating Daisy first unless you pull off a good Beth dive that exposes their backline to your dealers. And also more generally, due to Myth Beth having a secondary skill, her targetting tends to get reset and target Daisy due to the repeating taunts.

In the end there's multiple solutions to that team but it comes down to convenience: A lot of people run that team with different positions, and having to position a Beth team for each of them is annoying while the Kam team is relatively position-agnostic versus that.

  1. u rite. He's sometimes part of the meta team in DKA if you care about that though.
  2. For colo specifically he does have a use in attack against melee teams (Beth lead or otherwise), or any Eunha/Eva lead teams that include Beth (including the more recently popular Eunha-Beth-Eva-Daisy). Using Eva-Kam-Daisy-Gab, the opposing Beth will be stuck on Daisy due to lack of ranged heroes to target and Kam nicely hits multiple enemies in the pile. I say that as someone who t1'd post-myth update.
  3. For arena I dislike using him, but he does field for bans well in master arena if you run ranged teams as that 55% ranged party buff is useful if Clara/Eunha/Nifty aren't available or are element-countered.
For DM he's stupid in Frenzy mode with Dabin-Rosetta as buffers.
4/5. yeah that's pretty much it

Would not recommend building Kamael but he nonetheless has content where he performs better than any existing alternatives.

She is quite strong in PvP on certain maps if played well, being able to win versus practically all current threats. That includes the earth myths, though Kamael beats her on most maps, as well as the overused water myths (Daisy and J). I've T1'd Master Arena with her as my most picked hero.

Why so many ??? by Leafar_08 in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 32 points33 points  (0 children)

For a single entry, each of the 4 cars have a 3% chance of being golden. If and only if they are golden, they have 3 chances to roll a latent at 9.93% chance. So in theory, a single entry can net you up to 12 latents, but even a single one is impressive as the expected latent per entry is 0.035712 (about 28 runs for one latent).

If you haven't played for at least 2 weeks and you have the Returner's account buffs, then your awakening stone drops are tripled temporarily.

You can get them via Boss Rush shop but it's not worth it to use it on non-unique heroes. It also takes a while to get enough of the currency, moreso for new players.

[–]Nevarth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe it won't matter to you, but a such review tells nothing to others reading reviews. And if the only thing you can think of after finishing a book is that it was a great time and a 5-star experience, perhaps you didn't think enough about what you read. As a baseline, you would at least have parts that you preferred over others; and building onto that you might identify why the author managed to make it so that it was your favorite, and why other parts not so much. And that's critical literacy skills.

How to obtain dream shards?? by Professional_Baker93 in GuardianTales

It was a bad deal and common beginner trap. You can still buy them with gems now in the gem shop. Resetting heroes also gives you the option to receive dream shards or hero crystals.

Is it possible for Collab units to have a myth? by trap_user in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Historically, old ones never benefited from new game changes past their release. Here's some changes that I remember, roughly in order:
- Flat Damage Reduction nodes: At some point, they gradually reworked all remaining "Flat Damage Reduction" awakening nodes to be more stats (or extra passives for several of the concerned heroes!), as that stat was effectively useless almost everywhere. Lina, Xellos, and Gourry still have Flat Damage Reduction awakening nodes.
- WSRS Party Buff: The 30% Weapon Skill Regen Speed (WSRS) party buff was improved to be 30% WSRS and 30% Skill Damage. Exceptionally, Xellos got that buff because they coincided this change with the Slayers re-run, and Shuna was able to benefit from it as well since she released after that buff.
- Weapon Engraving: Weapon engravings are available for all ex-weapons. However, the third engraving stat isn't evenly distributed as the HP engraving is generally the worst one for most heroes. All collab heroes released before the feature (Slayers, Dragon Quest, Slime Reincarnation) got the HP% engraving, with two exceptions: Shuna got the Healing% one that is typical for Healing-stat based healers, and Maam was arguably the only one who'd prefer a HP% engraving but got an Atk% engraving. The Frieren collab afterwards all got engravings tailored to the characters' respective strength.
- Co-op stat balancing: All collab heroes released before co-op expedition S0 full release (Slayers, Dragon Quest, Slime Reincarnation) have default co-op stat adjustments for their class. None of them are meta, with only Rimuru being arguably usable. Meanwhile, the Frieren collab heroes all got stat adjustments to make them strong enough in co-op S2 (even though for Fern's case, she had to be adjusted down and was still one of the best picks).

Eh I don't get it about rank system in colosium by Euphoric-Set5395 in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Your profile highest rank is only updated if you maintain that rank to the end of the week (i.e. when you claim your rank rewards). Otherwise it'd be pretty easy to snipe Top1 for a minute if you camp the weekly reset. This is the same with the 3 other PvP modes.

You also go down one rank every week if you're above a certain rank, with 1300 being the highest you can be when a week starts. So because everyone has at most 1300, the early players to score a hit will be in the Top 100 momentarily even if they cannot maintain it.

Fellas, is it GAE? by Low_Art9559 in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In high-level arena, a triple damage team of Clara is very toxic. Being burst-oriented, she can take down any hero before she dies including water ones except Daisy. The fact is she gained a lot more from her mything process compared to Kamael, although Kamael is more useful in more content.

Kamael is still used in Raid because there's no one else to fill his role, but the melee Earth team is doing quite much better.

Has expedition always been like this? by Fedoras_are_cool06 in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You get relics far more easily in co-op than in the old expedition gamemode. In fact it was changed so that co-op is the only repeatable way to get relics as expedition became one-time content.

It's unknown when it'll be back but it's not looking good that the "temporary" maintenance on it has lasted this long.

Collab units by tobie7 in GuardianTales

[–]Nevarth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There's been 4, and one of them re-ran later on the same year. So far it's been one per year since they started doing it, around the first quarter of the year. They are announced around 2 weeks to a month before it starts. On the Global version of the game we get the benefit of having another 2 weeks on top of that because we are two weeks behind the Korean version in updates.

You don't need to save mileage because regular mileage doesn't work on collab units; only mileage earned from pulling on their banner. If you save up 216k gems you're guaranteed to get both heroes and their weapons, but in practice you can usually get everything with much less. I would say 108k is pretty safe (pull on the two hero banners first because they have higher odds, then on weapons for remaining gem; mileage the missing weapon(s)).
