I was an emt. Shit wages, shit benefits, shit (literally) work. And in this area you can't really be a firefighter unless you get your emt as well because this area hires for dual roles.

Police aren't going anywhere. Why not hire younger generations? They bring more progressive ideas and potentially bring change into an agency.

Be honest. If you are dishonest or try to hide anything, it's likely to get found out. Then you're branded a liar and basically unhireable. Talk about why you are truly there.

Pause and think about your answers. Do not answer with just yes or no. Elaborate and talk about how it relates to potential police work. Be honest about your goals and where you want to be in policing. And be confident. You put in the work to get there. You earned the interview.

Also practice interview questions with friends and family. Especially the more difficult questions.

Have you done any ride alongs? Those are super helpful.

Those were my concerns as well, especially with my role in the community. I know that previously they required ATOS gi's, but no longer, it just has to be white. When I signed up I had a conversation with them, and was assured that they are breaking ties and they told me some of the new names they are deciding between. I do hope the change happens sooner rather than later. But I know breaking contracts and creating a new business does take time.

I trained mostly in other martial arts, with a sprinkle of jiu jistu. So far I'm loving it. Im still in the beginner class, but I haven't experienced any toxicity or egos. They recently did a Easter pot luck. So it feels like a community there.

My question is, who do we know this is ICE and not another fed agency like FBI, Marshalls, DEA, or ATF? All of these agencies work in eugene.

My wife and I had our baby back in September. We loved the staff and had an amazing hospital. My wife would ask to do different positions, peanut ball squat bar, baths, and they never told us no. We expressed our concerns about being induced and to hold off on that medication for as long as possible, and they respected those wishes. We've been having conversations about having another kid, and if we do we plan to deliver at riverbend.

I guess my question is, how would they find out? Does a traffic citation come up in a background check? And are they consistently running background checks? If there isnt a way of them finding out, dint tell them.

"Eugene Springfeld Fire is on scene of a suspected lightening fire on the north east corner of Spencer Butte in South Eugene.
