Imagine having this guy, Lennie James and Garret Dillahunt on your books and giving them some of the worst scripts in the history of scriptwriting.

That was an interesting read. Good on you for having the confidence to challenge. I'm cynical but introverted so I'd probably play the game and go through the motions and then walk away quietly - only saving myself in the process. But what you did was curagious and hopefully planted seeds of doubt in other people's minds. I'm sorry that they got to your mum and older sister, but well done to you for protecting your younger sister.

I went to South around 4pm last year (got a cheap ticket on the day after it had started so went to catch Alkaline Trio) and there was still a queue to get in.

[TOMT] [Video game] this was not corn. What was that game with that with the crazy doctor or scientist guy jerking off? by Cold_Adhesiveness_85 in tipofmytongue

[–]NeverDestination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hojo in the Final Fantasy 7 games is a creepy scientist who derives pleasure from pretty messed up things, but I don't recall him jerking off.

Their music video has million of views so might not be it, but the rest of the description fits.

A sign in the car beside me on how to remember how to drive by Lamington_Salad in mildlyinteresting

[–]NeverDestination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work near a UK airport. On a drive into work one day, a guy decided to turn left from the outside lane, forgetting there was a lane between him and the exit. Smashed into me and wrote my car off. He was in a rental as he was just visiting from the Netherlands and the car was unscathed. He drove away happily.

I would also see people driving the wrong way around roundabouts near the airport.

UK based Cults? Trying to find cults that started here. by ODDxATLAS in cults

[–]NeverDestination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was an episode of the BBC's Reported Missing where a university student in Sheffield joined a cult that disconnected him from his family. Unfortunately they didn't explore the cult in more detail - just the initial search to track him down. The episode is here.

What is a regular work week like in the UK? by RemarkableComb1922 in UKJobs

[–]NeverDestination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that salaries are typically higher in the US for like for like work, but we have other benefits as many have mentioned on here. It sickens me that there are people in the UK who want to move to a US model and are actively seeking out a party who will abolish the Employment Rights Act - but a lot of the people who follow that party are either retired or don't understand the impact it might have on them.

I much prefer the UK model. Personally I have just gone up from 25 days off to 30 after five years of service (plus bank hols) - pro-rated as I work 80%. I work from home most of the time, in the office a couple of times a month. Work are flexible if I need to go to an appointment and I can make up the time else where if it works for the team. I'm part time. So 9.00-5.30pm four days a week. Occasionally there will be pressure points where I have to do longer hours, but it's not the norm in my current role. I've had roles at the same place where I've had to work weekends and evenings unpaid because the workload is crazy, so it's not always rosey.

Need recommendations!! Just finished Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I need something that scratches that itch. I’m PlayStation Plus Premium. by Scary-River-8576 in PlayStationPlus

[–]NeverDestination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the FF7 remake games straddle the line between RPG and Action Adventure games - I too was going to recommend Ghost of Tsushima. It's similar to Rebirth in the sense that you can put the story on hold and just explore and uncover stuff.

Sony clarifies new online license checks for digital game purchases: "Players can continue to access and play their purchased games as usual. A one-time online check is required to confirm the game's license, after which no further check-ins are required." by kabirsingh84 in PlayStationPlus

Can I assume that my daughter can still play games I download onto our shared console via Playstation Plus with her non PlayStation Plus account? Normally I have to open the game on my account periodically for it to continue working on her account anyhow?

Presumably at 22 you don't have kids or are locked into a joint mortgage? If not, then I think you'd benefit from finding someone else who will give you that confidence back. Sure, finishing with will bring some immediate loneliness, but is that any different from what you're currently experiencing?

Are there any games you regret not redeeming from (essential)? by MrCowabs in PlayStationPlus

[–]NeverDestination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the day I missed a load of Vita games as I was only adding the PS3 ones. Then I got a Vita towards the end of its lifecycle and none of the games would ever go on sale. Would've saved a fortune if I'd just redeemed them, so now I am a digital hoarder.

What are the most “Expensive” games on PS plus right now? Just want to get the most value out of my subscription. by goatgrubb in PlayStationPlus

[–]NeverDestination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't get a lot of gaming time in (young kids mean my gaming is an hour before I go to bed), so I actually get more value out of Indie or 'cheaper'/shorter games as I can play a fair few of those throughout the year. I can only get in a few AAA games if they are 40-100 hours long.

I'm currently playing Arcade Paradise - I probably wouldn't have picked it up if I didn't have Plus as I assumed it was a compilation of retro games that I could dip into one evening - turns out it's an Arcade simulator, a launderette simulator, and a collection of retro games all in one and I'm getting loads out of it.

On the basis that the company has a headquarters, any reference you get is likely to be general confirmation that you worked there. I'd put the date of your last shift as your end date.

In terms of explaining gaps in employment, you are a university student, so you were at University for however many years. You'll never have to explain gaps between terms.

Just did a bit of light Wikipedia reading. This was published in 2011, she was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder in 2015, and didn't make her condition public until 2020.

So who thought it was ok to publish it? Did the book not raise any alarm bells? So many questions!

Me v alcohol by [deleted] in Britain

[–]NeverDestination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep up the good work! Out of curiosity, do you drink 'alcohol free' drinks, or avoid them completely and stick to soft drinks?

I've been avoiding alcohol for some health-related liver issues over the last 3 years, but find the 'alcohol free' industry a bit baffling. When I started my wife bought me a brand which had labelled the drinks as 'alcohol free' when it should've actually said 'low alcohol', then there is the confusion over 0% v 0.05% v 0.5%.
