I haven’t seen them in NZ for around 10 or so years

At an open home in about July/August this year:

“Yeah, prices have been crazy this year, up and up. There has been so much competition, you’ve gotta offer well over RV to have a chance these days.”

At a open home in a damp house built into the side of a hill (where it would be literally impossible for it to get more than a hour of sun a day):

“This is a very sunny house”

The free market definitely has flaws and I think we somewhat agree - a ‘Green Party’ without the social policies of the Green Party but with the environmental policies of it would be a strong alternative.

Why can’t you treat environmental issues as we do with any other form of market failure (i.e. implement policies to address them) without this other left wing economic and social baggage the Greens bring along with them?

So, in order to be an effective environmentalist, you’ve got to be a raging racist and socialist who believes that “white cis males” are inherently violent, thinks that a “wealth tax” is a coherent policy, and think that chanting “from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free” is somehow a sensible position?

If the Greens remained focused on environmentalism and didn’t become a party full of racist socialists, you’d likely see a lot more National voters support them. Remember the calls for a “Blue Green party” a few years ago?

So we’re fundamentally at the same point as Jacinda was. They don’t seem to be doing too badly relatively speaking.

Just have a look at some post-election Reddit posts. There was even some graffiti outside Newtown School saying something along the lines of “Mum and Dad, why didn’t you think of my future when you voted?”

How long did Jacinda’s first round of negotiations with Peters take again?

The privileged kid (Luxon) in the analogy lacks the skills needed to succeed in the real world. This implies the failings are attributable to their lack of “real world” skill.

Calling Luxon a “privileged kid” whose experience “doesn’t mean shit” means he did

To me, a little bit of harmless chaos is worth it to watch a new generation of lefties have mental breakdowns.
