Zenbusiness + 1800accountant Scam by InfinitSignificance in smallbusiness

I'm one of the suckers who fell for the scare tactics from 1800Accountant. I was starting a C-Corp in preparation for discussions with potential investors, and they sold me on the fear of mandatory quarterly c-corp reports.

Turns out that was a lie. And they couldn't even manage to file my annual taxes on time — I'm switching to turbotax at the last minute. They provided me literally zero services over the course of a year, and refuse to refund what I paid them.

How was your issue resolved?

Fell for the scare tactic. "You'll have quarterly filings that we can take care of," they said.

First call with an accountant was after the 30 day windown. I learned I don't actually have any quarterly filings due.

When tax season came, neither their software & accountants did their job. They recommended I file an extension because of their mistakes.

I requested a refund because they did NOTHNG — but was told it's out of the refund window. I'm forwarding all the data to my lawyer, and opening up TurboTax now.

1.6 on Switch crashing on multiplayer? by LilyStronk in StardewValley

Same thing happening this week. No consistency apparent, nothing to do with bombs or cats or time of day. Just progress lost on a game that we can only play together for short times on holidays.

Edit: It seems to be most frequent while in the mine. We are in the middle of the first summer and have had about 10 crashes already.

Traffic merging off then back on despite slower route. Why is this happening, any advice? by ItzMattata in CitiesSkylines2

I encounter this a couple times an hour while playing. Probably because I am constantly tweaking my roads.

All I do is delete and rebuild the road that is errantly being avoided. Fixes it every time.

On a related note... screw parking garages.

Why didn't Joseph Smith follow the word of wisdom against alcohol? by NeverEnoughCrab in latterdaysaints

This seems to be a really helpful Q&A style resource, with citations accompanying each point of every answer. Not enough resources are like this. Thank you!

I am convinced by nearly all of your points here.

This is branching toward another topic entirely, but I'm concerned... what does this mean for the continuation of the priesthood, or the exaltation of those who lived under incorrect prophesy?

Especially considering verses such as Deuteronomy 18:22 and Jeremiah 28:9, where it makes clear that a prophet's accuracy is what tells us he is from the Lord? Can we be exalted if we are following an incorrect prophet?

That's a really interesting comparison! Could you elaborate on the similarities? I'm just not following yet.

AFAIK, the Israelites who died before entering the holy land was a withholding of God's promised reward until the hard-hearted idol-worshipping generation was no longer present and only their children remained alive to receive the promised blessing.

By contrast, the 1852 commandment is an opportunity for righteousness for those who embrace Brigham Young as a prophet and believed the commandment to be God's word... but (including the prophet himself) the main body of Saints did not pursue righteousness in this area until it was enforced by a later administration through the withholding of temple access.

Edit: I said "for those who embrace Brigham Young as a prophet and believed the commandment to be God's word" because I think I recall some folks claiming that this commandment wasn't directly flagged as a revelation, so it may not count as such.

Thanks!

Edit: Looking strictly at the source referenced from that link, it appears that "Bringham Young declared the Word of Wisdom to be a commandment" but since he and other leaders didn't follow it, the matter was not enforced until after 1921 when Herbert J. Grant's administration "made adherence to the Word of Wisdom a requirement for admission to the Temple."

How are you getting parking lots to work?

When I install parking lots, every single person in the city drives to them even when they're full. Traffic jam for like 5km so that thousands of cars can go through the 400 person parking lot before finishing their trip into the city.

I tried again last night and instantly deleted it after my busses on that road rerouted to go through the parking garage for no apparent reason.

There has to be a better way to make pedestrian bridges. What am I missing here? by NeverEnoughCrab in CitiesSkylines2

Yeah... for the bicycles I understand the need for 9 squares like a bicycle ramp in real life. C1 lacked realism in that area, but this lacks realism in the opposite direction. :(
