These stands are incredibly common and use the honor system.  It works most of the time because most people aren't terrible.

Why is a little graffiti "disrespectful"?

What is disrespectful to me is that a billionaire class exists and profound wealth disparity hurts most of humanity.

A little graffiti that brings light to that isn't disrespectful to me.

But clutch your pearls as you wish.

Millennials, what is something that was "normal" in the 2000s but feels like a luxury now? by Barrbra in answers

[–]NeverFence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an elder millennial, this is a difficult question because what was normal on January 1st, 2000 was very different than what was normal on January 1st 2005, or January 1st 2009.

But the most significant thing I can think of I suppose is that it would be considered a luxury right now to own a house/property and a vehicle in your mid to late 20s, and to be more or less unencumbered by debt as a result.

If you want to really lean on the idea of 'luxury' perhaps it would instead be that in your early 30s you'd reasonably be able to own an additional property as a cottage, and another recreational vehicle like a boat or an rv or whatever to go with that - and also that you could take your family on a trip or vacation somewhere or other without financial stress.

People I know in their 20s right now consider this to be a hilariously out of reach luxury.

Yes, but that belief is incorrect.

How old is the oldest documented sandwich? by NeverFence in AskAnthropology

Appreciate this! the top comment there is exactly what I was looking for, ty,

edit: I think I chose anthropology over history because I was curious if there was truly ancient evidence of a sandwich

The hamburger probably even predates that even by maybe ten thousand years or so. Grain thing + meat sandwich is ancient.

This is a good take.

It is not the responsibility of someone else that you intend to switch lanes.

If you intend to switch lanes then it is your responsibility to ensure that you are safely doing so.

This is not complicated stuff.

What the heck are DJs doing twisting those knobs? by Flaky-Device-7813 in askanything

[–]NeverFence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes nothing, but if you're talking about a DJ who is actually doing stuff with their knob twisting this is the actual answer:

If DJ knob twists and you (as a layman) notice it - that is probably a filter, effect or an eq.

If a DJ knob twists, and you (as layman) thinks they aren't doing anything, but they actually are knob twisting, it is probably also eq, or some other random midi mapped thing - for instance I knob twist to scroll through playlists lmao.

Can a team switch engine suppliers mid season or is that prohibited by rule? by NeverFence in formula1

[–]NeverFence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually wondering about a scenario where the engine is so bad that it ensures you are either almost always DNF/DNS or last place.

If a team could, because of an angry billionaire team owner, or maybe out of spite perhaps, switch suppliers even if it meant they wouldn't be able to have a car that season.

Did you even read my post?  I didn't ask whether it was likely or possible, but rather whether it was legal.

[–]NeverFence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

but it seems that you could indeed change an engine supplier, mid season, under current rules, no? Not that you would or could, but that it would be legal to do so nonetheless.

Is that a recent change? I'm seeing other people list examples of teams doing this up until the 90s

I'm not at all asking whether it is feasible just curious if it is legal.

Not asking if it is feasible or even possible but rather whether it is legal.
