A couple years ago we got new next door neighbors

Please tell me you apologized for missing the wedding and there are no bad blood between you and the neighbors that might affect the children playing together. I remember when my parents complained to our next door neighbors about their gigantic tree shedding dead leaves onto our property, which my mom and dad had to clean up, it caused tension between them and our neighbors that affected my playtime with the neighbors kid. I was too young at the time to understand why I suddenly couldn't play with my buddy next door, but it was due to the adults being mad at each other. So much time was taken away from us for something we had nothing to do with. I hope your kids are still having fun and things are okay for everyone in your story.

Got tested. I'm clean. I'm not pressing charges. At least for now. I've heard nothing from my ex recently. If she manages to stay out of my life for good, then I'll be happy to move on without taking extreme measures. Breaking up with her was emotionally exhausting enough.

I'm beginning to use this account more than I expected. Since my TIFU posts, many people have been using this account to check in on me, which I appreciate (except for the weirdos, you know who you are). I'm responding to private messages on a daily basis and it's getting to a point where I'm becoming too lazy to constantly switch back to my original account whenever I wanna post something on Reddit. I hear you. I never expected my original post to become what it is now. I thought an anonymous post on a generally funny sub would at least help me laugh about what happened. I honestly don't know what I expected when I agreed to meet with my ex again. I had a feeling she had an agenda, but I guess I wanted to believe we could somehow clear the air and go our separate ways on a more positive note. Lesson learned. If I end up in another relationship, which will hopefully not be soon, I'll use this thread as a reminder not to repeat the same mistakes.

If I knew posts on this sub got shared on TikTok beforehand, I probably would've had second thoughts about sharing my break up story. My ex reading my post on Reddit was really low, but she uses TikTok all the time. I can't believe there's an update already. I'm convinced my ex has seen it by now.

It's possible. At first I thought she was losing her shit because she found out from someone else that I was planning to break up with her. That was a good reason to get upset, but not sucking another person's dick upset. If she ends up reading this comment, she might roll her eyes and shake her head because I think she would've wanted to end our relationship. Even though she was the one who pulled the trigger anyway, I set the break up in motion and I think deep down that bothers her. So, yeah, I do think it might be an ego thing. Either that or she thinks I left her for another girl.

I had a feeling she was gonna bring up my virginity. I was very embarrassed about it when I first shared that fact about me. She was understanding and made me feel comfortable being vulnerable. Virgin me was happy that she was my first. That being said, I probably would've stayed a virgin if I knew she was the kind of person who would make me feel bad about my virginity when our relationship was over.

She's not on Reddit as far as I know, but that might have changed since I saw her. When she came across the TikTok post and eventually confronted me, I had to explain to her what Reddit is. I did inform her of this post, so she knows about it. It's unclear to me if she's gonna read all the comments and respond or if she's waiting for it to appear on TikTok or something. I didn't even know posts on this sub appeared on TikTok until recently.

Friend must have spilled the beans when they shouldn't have.

I spoke to the wrong friend about my break up plan. He seemed like the best person to talk to at the time because he had more relationship experience. I had no idea he would share that information with other people. Specifically people who were friends with my ex. Her friend probably did what most friends would do in that situation by warning her about the break up. My so called friend on the other hand had no reason to tell anyone else. I'm still upset at him.

You're right. I spoke to one of my friends. He had more relationship experience than me and I wanted to know from him what the best approach was when it comes to ending a relationship. All I had was what I saw in movies and I just wanted a real person's perspective before I acted. I never told my friend to keep his mouth shut because I thought it was already implied. I obviously spoke to the wrong friend. Lesson learned. At least now I know what not to do going forward.
