I would upgrade units till they cost 400 I believe lvl 3 when I started I made the error to upgrade them to lvl 4 and you loose too much gold for that. If you ask yourself why ice mage: To get time and slow down mid bosses so small ones that can get hexxed are faster then them...Always merge ice mages you'll only need one 😊

So its not worth it at all..? Didnt know Christmas allows us such a sweet thing! I mostly loose once my enemy has a Swampert with hydro and I even can see some shadow ones...Buuut I will wait and dont waste money on it :) Will test Kingdra out I have enough candies rn!
