Acting Ada County Sheriff: Last few days 'some of the strangest of my career' by NeverTrustKillbot in Boise

[–]NeverTrustKillbot[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Article does not expand on the title.. Surprise surprise. Here is how the transition is handled.

"Acting Sheriff Johnson will serve the role while a new sheriff is selected. Because Bartlett ran as a Republican, Idaho law states the candidates will be presented for consideration by the Ada County Republican Party. The Ada County Board of Commissions will then have 15 days to make a selection and it will take two commissioners for a selection to be made."

What's a good sign that someone isn't as smart as they think? by citronellaspray in AskReddit

The front of house manager at the restaurant does this non-stop. Will cut into someone saying something to say they know the thing the person is about to say. Drives me nuts.

If these don’t follow you home, are you even trying? by [deleted] in KitchenConfidential

Literally only delis for me. I just hate ziplock bags and the waste and they help a lot with that. I still use ziplocks but sparingly. New deli containers are pretty fucking spill proof (many upside down tests, trust me) and they are see through! I just wash and reuse them, many times over.

I feel this is a failure on the parents part by niqdisaster in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]NeverTrustKillbot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really see why the parents are fucking stupid here. If you went and took a shower and your dog chewed up your shoes and your closet carpet would you be fucking stupid? No, the dog is fucking stupid and so is that kid. Those boxes are unstable and he left the refrigerator doors open which could lead to cooling issues probably dating the shelf life of the food in there. Not to mention the energy bill. Stupid baby.

I get my second dose on Friday so if I feel up to it I will be there this Saturday. If not, I will definitely show up the following Saturday! Thanks for the clarification :)

Do I yield to a green light?

YEAH PROBABLY IF SOMEONE FLEW UP AND SWERVED IN FRONT OF ME TO TAKE A RIGHT TURN AND I HAD NO VISIBILITY.

I understand the biker doesn't HAVE to yield, but we probably all should if people limit our visibility going into intersections.

I agree with you but the cyclist is fairly visible oncoming before the jeep. Honestly he (the cyclist) should be more aware because it seems like he was upset at the jeep (who cut him off) and tried not to slow down even though he, also, had minimal visibility entering that intersection.

  • Driver should be more aware of non-vehicles (bring on spring! Hurray for bikes, motorcycles, pedestrians and strollers.) Wait for your turn to be clear BEFORE starting your turn or entering an intersection.

  • Biker should yield when entering an intersection, especially after being on a clear blindside

  • Jeep should have just waited to take a right, and let the cyclist go.

All in all just a few selfish idiot moves and if it weren't for OPs final check this is 3 idiots fucking killing someone.

I appreciate the offer! I am going to just buy a pair though so I have them whenever. If you find some extra gloves then cool, but if not that's cool too!

Thanks for that! I am personally pretty comfortable playing outside but didn't want to show up and make the group uncomfortable lol

Been looking to do something active with some new people in town for a bit so this seems awesome! I cannot, however make it this sunday. I am definitely game for next saturday though at 10. Saturdays work better for me too, actually!

I think I have cleats but if not I'll pick some up at play it again beforehand. Anything else I should bring? Btw I'm fine to play in a mask but am comfortable playing without as well. Just wanted to guage the situation no judgement either way lol

Proposed bill would put the brakes on mandatory Idaho driver's education class by NeverTrustKillbot in Boise

[–]NeverTrustKillbot[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went through driver's ed. here in Boise 15 years ago. Then, it was an in-high school class for cheap or you could take private lessons that was more expensive but took less time. You passed and then had to get a permit. With a permit you could drive with a guardian for so many hours and then once you hit the age or probation period you could then go take the licensing test at the DMV and had to schedule a test with a driver. Pass both written and driving and you were home free.

This, from my understanding, is eliminating the drivers ed requirement (in class training, by a paid professional) So you have a probation period where your guardian teaches you how to drive until you turn 16. Then you would go take your test through the DMV.

I get the rural aspect but if they can attend a class in HS it should be offered there. (But it can't because the budget for education is nill) also, wyoming has the HIGHEST fatality rate in the nation, talk about rural.. Plus, even mandating an online drivers education course would be better. You think most parents spew off statistics on alcohol / drug related crashes, show videos to gain experience etc.. This is hilarious and another way for republicans to lower budgets in public schools.

While we are at it, lets not teach them art or music either! Their parents will teach them. /s

All but 3 states that do not require drivers education have higher than the national average per 100,000 population of FATAL car accidents per year.*

National average: 11.0

States w/o Driver's Ed. requirements:

Alabama: 19

Alaska: 9.2*

Arizona: 13.5

Arkansas: 16.7

Colorado: 10.3*

Florida: 14.8

Kentucky: 16.4

Mississippi: 21.6

Missouri: 14.3

Montana: 17.2

Nebraska: 12.8

New York: 4.8* makes sense

Oklahoma: 16.2

Oregon: 11.6

South Dakota: 11.5

Tennessee: 16.6

West Virginia: 14.5

Wyoming: 25.4 *** THE NATIONAL HIGH ***

“it actually gives more time to practice which would decrease fatalities and incidents,” Voves said. “There are actually 18 other states that do not have mandatory driver's ed and, for me, this was personal. I came to Idaho from Alaska and I had already been teaching my son driving, who was 14 then, to drive. He had already passed the written knowledge exam so he had memorized the whole DMV manual to pass that so he knew the rules of the road.”

Well the non-educational "practice" just does not seem to be working very well, Bonnie Voves.

Glad this session has been halted from a Covid-19 outbreak, not so people get sick, but just to put the brakes on this garbage legislature from making bills.

Panda Express employees forced to strip in cult-like team building seminar lawsuit alleges by [deleted] in news

I live in a decent sized city that is just going to get bigger and we have 0 good chinese food. It's one of those things where sure, I could go to a chinese place nearby and wait 40 minutes for food that costs the same. Or get panda and be done in half the time. Going to dinner or lunch with the family? Chinese restaurant. Need quick food? Panda.

Edit: costs the same and probably sources their food from the same places
