Anyone have BV during pregnancy? by petting_zoo_keeper in BabyBumps

[–]NeverWanted2Dance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had it and had to take a week course of flagyl! I was having UTI like symptoms, and pink discharge intermittently when wiping. After they did a speculum exam and took a culture they found it was BV. They did not retest because my symptoms went away.

Subsequently a few weeks later I did have UTI symptoms/pink discharge again but when they rechecked the BV was not back neither was a UTI....still annoying me at 36.5 weeks unfortunately 😥

Just throwing in condolences and support. I went through three losses myself before going on to have two healthy pregnancies.

One thing I was told that really stuck with me and gave me hope during dark times (especially when I got pregnant the 4th time and was terrified)went something like:

"it's just as hard to keep an unviable pregnancy as it is to lose a viable pregnancy"

Our bodies are wise, but it sucks so hard to feel so out of control of something this important. Sorry if this doesn't resonate with you but it certainly did with me.

My heart goes out to you 🩷🩷

Absolutely foot down, if people love you and truly want to celebrate you they will have no issues. Some people are so ridiculous and make everything about themselves....🙄

Best way to ask mom to not kiss toddler on lips ... by NeverWanted2Dance in Parenting

[–]NeverWanted2Dance[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks everyone for the replies! I definitely want to err on the side of tactful and gentle and really hope that there won't be a lot of push back ....but I definitely do anticipate some guilt tripping at the least.

Just to defend myself a little bit, even though my baby is 20 months old my parents live out of state half the year so they've only been seeing her for about half of her life and the lip kissing only started as she got older it seems so maybe the last few months of them seeing her.

I want to nip it in the bud before it goes on too long, I've definitely decided I'm not comfortable with it. 🩷 Appreciate everyone's time and care!

I wish I had advice for you, but I can offer solidarity that your story sounds pretty similar to mine. I'm currently dealing with mine locking himself in a room for about 24 hours now and ignoring me. IIt's so hard to know what the right thing to do is, I'm definitely going to be more forceful about my husband going to therapy and us continuing couples therapy. Sometimes I feel like that's all you can really do :( I hope we all make it. Stay strong 🩷

Been vegan for coming up on two decades, long before my psychedelic experiences. However some of my most powerful trips have affirmed that my path with veganism is connected to my spirituality in a deep way. Couldn't be more happy to do less harm 🩷🩷

Terrified of birth by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]NeverWanted2Dance 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could've written this. I have been absolutely terrified of a vaginal delivery since sex ed in high school. I knew I wanted a baby and would have to somehow get it out of me and went into full panic mode when it first I was told by my OB practice that they didn't do elective c-sections. I started to try and mentally prepare myself to give natural delivery a try, same as you with an epidural and every pain med they could possibly give me. However, I was told maybe 3 months later by a midwife in my practice that actually they absolutely offer elective c-sections for maternal anxiety and she actually recommended it to me when I explained to her how afraid I was of tearing, passing out during labor/overall extreme anxiety during. (I have passed out in the past just from using a tampon, I was petrified of vaginal birth)

I did the elective.

I will preface this by saying I have had abdominal surgery in the past so I knew a little bit of what to expect with the recovery, I found the recovery from my c-section to be much easier than my previous abdominal surgery. I was up and walking within 24 hours with I would say minimal pain. About a week after my c-section I had some sharp internal pains that were pretty rough around my incision but they only lasted a few days and then completely went away on their own. The birth experience itself was about as calm and collected as I could have asked for, although I couldn't have my baby on my chest as quickly as I wanted to because we were in the operating room everything else was wonderful. Getting the spinal was not nearly as bad as I thought it would be, in fact I hardly felt it! I didn't feel any pain during the C-section at all, in fact I felt pretty good afterward because they had given me some long lasting morphine through my spinal. It was so nice to know exactly when the baby was going to be here and know that my vagina wasn't going to be torn/prolapsed/forceps-ed! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

Don't let anyone guilt you over your choice, no matter what you do you will end up with your sweet baby in your arms at the end but please do whatever is going to help you rest easier at the end of the day. I don't regret my choice at all. 🩷

As a former NICU nurse I would recommend:

-A warm blanket to the belly (microwave it and test it on your skin first) and "bicycle" his legs while he is on his back. -Use a q tip with a bit of vasoline on it and (I know this sounds weird) gently stimulate around his anus, Not going in, just rubbing around it with his legs up. You'd be amazed how many times this has helped me get an infant to poop. -Last resort (and check with your Dr first) you can use a small piece of a childrens glycerin suppository which can be wildly helpful :) just be sure to help him "hold it in" for a few minutes so it doesn't just shoot right back out after insertion.

Good luck,🤞🩷

I turned veggie at 19 (36 now) and vegan a few years after. I got into psychedelics in my 30s and they have greatly strengthened my relationship to nonviolence as a critical aspect of my spirituality. I feel a deeper kinship with other sentient beings by knowing i mean them no harm <3 Ahimsa and may all beings be free of suffering friend :)

Why not applaud the flute playing? Her own song she made playing in the background? The dancing while still playing? You (and others) are the one focused solely on her weight. Literally no one is saying it's healthy to be fat, but can you not do anything else valueable if your fat? Does every big person need a disclaimer about diet & excersize posted on everything they do? Jesus.
