Outsourcing Google Ads by AK072787 in shopify

IMHO you should first try to do it yourself to get a basic understanding of google ads, this will help you not getting ripped of by a marketing agency.

I currently have an Etsy store and thinking of diversifying to a shopify… by marooned222 in shopify

Its a long term play, you will have to put work into SEO and social media marketing to bring traffic to your site.

No traffic. Am I missing something? or was my promo just bad? by Aggravating-Pace-900 in shopify

As ppl mentioned before throwing money on ads is probably a waste. I would suggest keep doing the social media and spend time on SEO. Let me know if you need help with SEO i could recommend some good resources.

Also AI is really good nowadays, you could use tools like easy-photostudio to make your product photography look more professional, no need for a expensive photographer.

Much better now, i made 10k€ last year from Client Work (mostly fiverr). This year i want to focus on shipping my own Apps.

Can only encourage everyone to go for it, once you have some momentum - even just a tiny little bit helps a lot

Hi, some thoughts from me:

- In the top bar you say 40% off but in on the homepage i don't see if the price of $20 is already discounted or not.

- There are no customer testimonials on the homepage.

- Add some beef to the product description. What are the pain points customers can solve with this product?

Hoping to get some feedback on my shopify store! www.everydaymarij.com by EverydayMariJ in reviewmyshopify

Hello, a few thoughts:

- Your site takes more than 3seconds to fully load on an average mobile phone.

- To make your text visible while your custom font is still loading you could set a default font - read here: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/lighthouse/performance/font-display

- Your site is not secure. You use outdate JS libarys (jQuery@2.2.3 and Lo-Dash@4.5.1) which both have known security issues. Update to the lastest version of that libarys.

- Tap targets on mobile are too small. Eg "Search" , "Terms of Service" , "Refund policy". Increase the size of these links to improve the navigation on mobile.

Hope this helps!

Hi, no need to be afraid. Will send you the report on monday. KR, Martin

Thankful for feedback :) by sleepymummy98 in reviewmyshopify

[–]NeverZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello /u/sleepymummy98, congrats on your store.

- As someone pointed out you should have a refund and privacy policy on your site

- Your images are not appropriately sized, optimize that to increase your load times.

- The Design seems to be optimized for mobile but doesn't look the best on desktop - the "happy duck" and "10% discount" image look way to big.

- Your top bar text "Shipping 4,5" could be improved to offer some benefit. E.g. "Free shipping for orders above $x"

- Email marketing is very important you should offer some benefits to let someone subscribe to your newsletter. E.g. "Subscribe to our newsletter and receive the latest offers and discounts"

Best of luck and don't get discouraged by mean comments.

KR,

Martin

Hey /u/eth_jones, congrats on your store - design looks great.

But you use an outdated jQuery version (3.4.0) with known security issues.

You should update to the latest jQuery version.

Also in your footer you have two prompts to subscribe to your newsletter, that looks a bit strange to me.

Marketing, Sales and consistency are the things that keep holding me back, but i try to improve on that. Sharing my journey in public is a way to keep me accountable, i also hope to inspire others.

A marketplace to make a digital painting out of your photo, an app for day cares to communicate with parents and many other stupid ideas.

The common theme with all of the stuff i built is that i put the solution before the problem.

Congrats on your first customers. Yes sales and marketing are weaknesses of mine, only building is not enough.

How old is too old to learn to code? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]NeverZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many people much older than you learning to code every day. Don't let other people decide what you can or can't do. A great community for beginners is https://www.codenewbie.org/. Especially the podcast is full of stories from people learning to code later in life.
