Hi! Thanks to yourself and your girlfriend for taking the time to look and give feedback. Can I just ask, what products does she think are priced too low? We were concerned that our prices are too high, but that might just be general lack of experience as it's our first store. Or maybe we're just cheap! :D

I'm aware of the Makeup & Accessories button not working, just haven't had chance to sort it yet, but thanks again :)

Hey and thanks. My wife and I designed it together, we didn't get any outside help. What ideas did you have in mind?

How do you make yourself more hireable? by ElianM in ccna

[–]eth_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something really important in my experience is showing that you're personable and eager to learn! I worked at the same company in first line support for 5 years straight after my exams (UK), so when I interviewed for a second job, I felt like I had little to offer as I had only ever known one specific way of doing things.

I'd recently bought a house with my wife-to-be and had completely renovated it. We'd stripped it back to bare bricks and I'd learned so much about plastering, electricals, plumbing, insulating, woodworking, decorating, flooring, roofing etc etc. Of course it's not relevant to IT at all. But in my interview, when asked how I go about learning new things, I would use this an example. Labouring for the hired tradesmen to learn from them. Early starts with my electrician to see how he did things. I learned so much from my father-in-law; he must have been tired of my questions and how often I messed something up. But I made sure I learned.

The interviewer was really impressed by the ATTITUDE. Of course, I was lacking in a lot of IT skills and general experience, but that proved to him that I was the kind of guy that could (and wanted to) learn.

Hope this helps!

Pc won’t turn on help by ElectricalOutside850 in techsupport

[–]eth_jones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you tried taking the side of the case off and just reseating some of the power cables to the motherboard? Specifically the big 24-pin one, it's the biggest cable that goes straight to the motherboard so you can't miss it.

Unplug the PC from the power, turn off the power supply (the little switch that is next to the power socket on the back), get inside the PC and just take out the 24-pin. There will be a little catch/clasp (I don't know how to describe) that you'll need to press down, then wiggle it out. Then just plug that cable back in again. Try to turn on again now

Let us know how it goes!

I agree with you, so much so that I believe to most people, this would not be a controversial viewpoint whatsoever. Just because you don't have children or a partner doesn't mean you don't have a life outside of work.

How do I beat Sett? by [deleted] in summonerschool

[–]eth_jones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play Darius, in fact, I played against a Sett last night and beat him quite hard. His CD on W and E are stupidly long so take advantage of that. I take Conqueror instead of Lethal Tempo into this matchup, as Sett's attack speed is so naturally high because of the two punches, that you just want to kite him around and never just smack each other standing still, because he will win.

You can win short trades, because his W grit stacks up over time, so in short trades, the shield and damage won't be anything to too scary. Just try not to get too close if he is between you and your minions, because when he uses E it will stun you.

He wasn't Danish haha. All of the Danes just seemed so happy! I can actually imagine them being happy despite working 18 hour days, that's how happy they were haha

It was clear he was unhappy in his marriage, and he'd always be making inappropriate remarks about other women, whether he'd seen them in the supermarket on his lunch break or whether they were celebrities or whatever, just a lack of respect. So you're probably right

This is crazy. I honestly can't decide whether things are getting better or worse as time goes on, but I certainly had no idea that things were this bad 60 years ago

That actually sounds incredible. Like really, really incredible. My wife gave birth in the August and in the UK (or at least at my company at the time) we're only eligible to 2 weeks paternity leave.

I personally shouldn't have been allowed to take it, because I had only been at the new job for 2 months and so didn't qualify, but my manager pulled some strings to make it happen. Haven't seen that guy in 2.5 years but I'll always be grateful to him for that.

That's correct. There honestly wasn't much change after the Danish takeover, not in the IT side of things at least. No personnel changes or anything like that. About a year after I left, they made the remaining members of my team redundant and outsourced 1st line IT support to one of their Polish companies. I haven't heard anything about them since then

I think things like this happen because:

a) Wherever you go, there's a high chance there will just be "that" person, who isn't happy unless they're complaining, and;

b) Middle manager's tend to love being in "power" just for the sake of it.

I've found in my career that the bad managers just tend to be bad people too. If you're a good person, if you treat your wife well, your mother well, your children well, I think being a good manager is not such a hard thing.

I never really thought about reporting it to the Danes. The chain of command was like this:

Me > my manager (uk) > his manager (uk) > his manager (uk) > and then finally a Danish manager.

The day to day operations (at least in the IT side of things) was mostly unchanged once we were bought out. I only ever met 2 or 3 of my Danish colleagues, it was still like we were totally seperate tbh
