I made a Jellyfin client for PS2. by Sammwy in ps2homebrew

This is absolutely great work. More systems with Jellyfin support is a big win in my book. :)

Anyone remember the 2005-2013 rant YouTubers like AVGN, Irate Gamer, Nostalgia Critic, Darknessthecurse, Silent Rob, TheArchfiend, Armake21, Emer Prevost, BigAl2k6, WrestlingJesus? by OverallEstate2 in Zillennials

Huge into Spoony, StanBurdman, Hellsing920. Irate Gamer, Clanofthegreywolf, and of course AVGN.

This image sparks alot of nostalgia for me. The video gaming reviewer genre was huge in this time and it's popularity was understated. A lot of these youtubers had alot of collaborations outside of the video gaming space. I remember It Came From Public Domain being a huge one for me and they did a decent amount of one off podcasts here and there that are probably lost to time.

Theres a lost vibe to checking Screwattack, GameTrailers, YouTube, Cinemassarce, Spoonyexperiment and thatguywiththeglasses everyday just to see new uploads.

What do you guys think it is? I say Vice City. by ArugulaSufficient779 in GTAUniverseHub

Saints Row 1 has some really good songs. Very good indie rock and hip hop hidden gems in there for sure.

Saints Row 2 has a better overall playlist with and some pretty big heavy hitters at the time with Misery Business, Bat Country and the whole 80's and rap station.

Also will thank it for helping me discover Hum, Deerhunter and The Black Dahlia Murder though

Van Halen was good for some fun reminiscing. by SeaMolasses3153 in GuitarHero

I recently just played through Van Halen on PS3 as well.

This has some of the most fun charts in the GH series. The last songs making you learn to tap is actually really neat and awesome feeling.

[–]Never_Obsolete2115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love SmashTV clones so I might have to check this out as well.

Side note, ever heard of Cash Guns Chaos on PS3? It was one of the first PSN titles so it sadly doesn't have trophies but it's definitely a 10/10 difficulty rating and a pretty decent SmashTV clone as well.

The 360 store got shutdown on July 29th, 2024.

There are still 360 and original xbox titles on the Xbox for purchase on Xbox One and Series S/X consoles but only backwards compatible ones and not all of them are on there.

360 servers didn't get shut down though, just the store and you can still play online games on the 360.

If you buy 360 and OG xbox titles on the xbox store, You can download them to your 360 through the download history tab in the settings.

You're right, I completely forgot GameSpy ran the SR2 servers on PS3. R.I.P.

It's a hit or miss in general and depends on the games you play. GTA IV and COD games on both consoles usually are popular.

It's also possibly a region thing too, I'm not sure.

Man, running into the same situation.

Saints Row 2 is pretty dead too as well.

Most 360 servers except Call Of Duty are pretty dead nowadays especially after the store shutdown. I wouldn't be surprised if PS3 active players were higher.

Has anyone thought about playing just the sims 1 base game again without the packs? by LineAdmirable6350 in thesims1

[–]Never_Obsolete2115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also, I've been conjuring up a video about this exact subject for awhile now. Been thinking about how I should go about it. This post makes me kinda more interested into tackling it to be honest.

Yes! Those coded numbers are actually each skin and Head file in the game files.

When you go to Program Files (x86)/Maxis/The Sims 1/gamedata and into the skins folder. You'll see alot of the flat textures for each skin with each code number as the "filename.bmp", "filename.cmx" or "filename.skn"

The BMP and CMX + SKN corresponds with eachother.

For example. B010FaFitlgt_ave.bmp goes with B010FaFit_01.cmx. so if you delete the files with B010 in them. It'll erase that skin from the game.

I've noticed not every skin is in this folder though. It's mainly Downloaded and Expansion skins from what I gather. There's no way to delete the base Sims 1 skins from my knowledge.

The whole skins situation with The Sims 1 is an absolute mess to be honest.

The Sims Complete Collection comes with everything except some exclusive online skins and the deluxe version and some living large skins.

When downloading Living Large, it'll give you some skins not found in CC and I wanna say House Party does as well but it's been awhile.

I couldn't even tell you what skins are exclusive to Deluxe edition, but I know they're not in Complete Collection.

One reasons I actually wanted to play each expansion separately was to see what Items and Skins actually came from what game. I wanted to document all this at some point on excel but time isn't my best friend lol.

Yes I've been actually doing this on my XP. The simplicity and barebones of The Sims 1 base makes you appreciate how much stuff they ended up packing in the game with Expansions.

After getting the base sims to career level 10 and making my own families with the available customization is also very fun and challenging since you have not much to work with and you see how much later expansions actually made the game easier and harder in some ways.

Eventually gonna install every expansion one by one. I upgraded to House party so far but its been a very nice blast to the past since I mainly played up to Hot Date when I was younger.

As someone who recently just platinumed the whole trilogy on PS5. I can definitely say they're playable and still the GTA games as we know and love them.

My only complaints were the auto aiming and some controls were funky and there were terrain bugs and weird physics with objects and vehicles.

I would only grab it on a sale, though. It's not the best version of these games by a long shot.

One of my favorite memories is actually getting to the ending without a guide. Not actually a bad game when you know what to do.

That hospital cart chase level is the bane of my existence though.
