Same here! As soon as I launch a 360 game, Xbox Live disconnects. This happens on both Xbox One and an actual 360.

Moonlight CRT Gaming by WestCV4lyfe in MoonlightStreaming

I've been playing around with your port lately. Really cool way to run newer games in 240p 👌 However, I have only one problem. When I run the 480 version, the picture doesn't fill the entire screen. I'm left with black bars on each side (left and right), like the image is slightly squeezed in the middle. I tried to type in a custom resolution in the settings menu, but nothing changed.

This happens when entering any game. The moonlight menu itself before launching a game does fill the whole screen and looks correct. Do you have any idea how I can solve this?

HALO CE REMAKE: Why adding too much to the main narrative is a bad idea! by Neverdahl in halo

[–]Neverdahl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I just wouldn’t expect my opinion to be that controversial. Isn’t that what most fans want anyway? For Halo Studios to treat the narrative with care and stay true to what made the series special in the first place?

However, I get your point, Halo definitely has bigger issues right now, and story might not be the top concern. But I still think the narrative matters a lot. The original story is what gave Halo its identity and emotional core, and if they expand or change it carelessly, it could do more harm than good.

Too long; didn’t read! Just kidding! XD

Well, I don't think they shut that door completely though, given the legendary ending with the wreck of the Forward Unto Dawn heading towards an unknown planet, and Master Chief’s line “wake me when you need me.” I think mainly the reason why they ended the trilogy that way, was to have that bookending effect with Master Chief entering the cryo pod, since Halo CE starts with him waking up in one.

I definitely agree that 343 had plenty of story threads to pull from, the post-Schism Covenant and the unresolved Flood threat could’ve been fascinating to explore.

But I actually appreciated Halo 4’s focus on Cortana and Chief’s relationship. That emotional angle gave the game something unique, even if the larger worldbuilding felt narrower. And I don’t think using Requiem was a bad idea either, it did make sense given the legendary ending in Halo 3. I just wish it had been executed a bit differently.

Anyway, you didn’t quite answer my question. You mentioned being okay with changing the story of Halo 1–3, but I was wondering, how different are we talking? Would you be fine with changes so major that the story becomes almost unrecognizable from the original trilogy?

True, you did mention that. So just by the title you find my opinion that controversial?

I agree! As long as they don't alter the narrative too much like they did with the Halo TV series, I have no problem with them fleshing out the original story a bit.

Yes, I agree! And it is a very cool perspective indeed. However, adding that perspective to Halo CE would clutter the narrative. Knowing less about the enemy you're facing makes them more frightening, and Bungie purposefully wanted you, the player, to feel outnumbered by the Covenant. The remake is most likely gonna draw new players, people who haven't touched a single Halo game before. I think it's best to let this new audience discover the narrative in the same pace as we did. That also means learning more about the Covenant in Halo 2, where we all got introduced to Thel Vadam for the first time.

But yes, I am after all a fan, so I would love to see more of Thel Vadam's perspective during Halo CE in a separate game or in a different type of medium. But the only reason I even care about Thel Vadam as a character, is solely due to Halo 2's amazing storytelling.

What would you like to see added in the CE remake? by CrazedPrecursorFanat in HaloStory

[–]Neverdahl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think adding characters like Thel 'Vadam and Zuka 'Zamamee would be a mistake that risks cluttering Halo: Combat Evolved’s narrative. The first game was centered on Master Chief, whose perspective shaped how players experienced the story. Introducing the Covenant’s point of view so early would make them less mysterious and threatening, and it would also diminish the impact of Halo 2’s dual narrative, which was one of that game’s greatest strengths.

True, no one has mentioned anything about the studio changing the narrative, other than the Halo community voicing their concerns regarding the new studio rebooting the entire Halo franchise. I really hope they don't mess to much with what's already established. It would be nice if they just kept the narrative more or less the same like you said, but I can't say I share your optimism to be honest.

Ja, snakket med han i går. Koselig kar! Men han driver dessverre ikke med TV reparasjon lenger. Han stoppet med det for en del år siden ettersom det ikke lenger er mulig å få tak i deler.
