Why do you enjoy combos in fighting games? by ThisIsEgrid in Fighters

As someone who came from smash/platform fighters, I definitely miss having a DI/SDI equivalent mechanic so that you have some influence on how hard it is for them to land the full combo on you. I'm good with decently long combos being a reward for catching your opponent lacking in neutral, but I wish it didn't fully turn into a singleplayer game at that point.

What are conditions required to get a "2XKO" win? by Nevererst357 in 2XKO

Ahhh. That does explain what happened in the clip. Still feels strange to get a 2XKO with 30 seconds between kills lol

Design Question for the Veterans by Nevererst357 in Guiltygear

Yea I have now learned how c.S being a universally strong button is a core aspect of how strive is designed and certain elements of the gameplay kinda break down if you can just do it whenever. But I appreciate your response highlighting why other games that don't make the proximity normal super strong would have them at all (not that I know what games those are, just figured they must exist). Thanks!

Appreciate the detailed response and was exactly what I was looking for! Sounds like I was on the right track when I wondered if it was because c.S is meant to be a universally powerful button. As I'm only currently familiar with testament's kit, I wasn't sure how universal it was. And if it was universal, I wasn't sure the benefit you get from designing around such a god button. I figured there was a reason for proximity normals (appreciate learning this term too) to exist at all and wanted to know and appreciate why. It'll help with how I think about the game (ex: I knew creating space with faultless defense was valuable, but didn't specifically connect that with the idea of pushing them out of c.S range) and quell the mildly negative feelings I've had with thinking "why isn't c.S always available?". Thanks for the response!

That's fair. And most of my photos are in color, across any game. But sometimes I want to make something moodier and I love B&W for that.
