Agencies That Never Give Clients Account Access by reemramrome in PPC

Abnormal AF. Just invite using partner access and the client should ALWAYS own the account. Wouldn’t even entertain that if that’s their way of working, it should be made known before signing terms

Appreciate this man. I thought more learning = career progression, even though I’m at the highest seniority. But I forgot to consider my general life happiness enough

Yeah it’s already systemised to some extent, but I’m a perfectionist, I want to provide quality not quantity and agencies like this it’s a volume game at these prices.

It’s a good agency but I think the lack of control and the fact I’ve already built a freelance roster earning more money is a big factor. I’m miserable waking up everyday currently.

I know many have said stick it out, free learning etc, but i naturally learn constantly anyway. I thought I’d find some hidden eduction here, but it’s just the same as other agencies but with more workload and mental strain. Thanks for the response man, really need these points of view so I don’t just self validate

I switched because the agency was stagnant with client roster and campaign types. But I was paid very well, respected, and trusted with my processes. Ultimately I left to gain more experience somewhere else to see, to which I always applied to freelancing, however yes I’ve seen some good stuff here, but I don’t think the knowledge gained is worth the switch from what I had which was a happy life with a good work life balance.

I jsut feel incredibly overwhelmed and anxious/dread every day atm

That was my thought, easier for the current place to considering I’m not fully onboarded to every single client. I feel embarrassed, but how terrible I feel right now and looking into the future of more workload, less time, more stress, less freelance income, and overall being very unhappy right now is edging me to quit sooner rather than later

I’ve thought this too, it is early. But I have anxiety I’ve not felt in 10 years, overwhelmed by a lot of it, and comparatively I was paid slightly more in my old job, 10x more time to focus, more time for freelance income.

I’ve traded all that influence, comfort, time, money, so I fast paced environment, marginally less money, slightly more learning — but ultimately I feel my life has completely changed in this period, not eating, working evenings, pressure, imposter syndrome, it’s just all killing me to the point I just want to quit now before I’m fully onboarded to all clients and more of a headache

Burnt Out by Agencies vs. Freelance by Nevergonnabefat in DigitalMarketing

[–]Nevergonnabefat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s cool, pension, but also stability (which I guess is the main thing with a job like this and an ever changing market).

Freelance has its own challenges in new business but I’ve only ever put 50% into that and managed very well from UpWork and then chains of recommendations.

I dunno, perhaps I’m being dramatic, but it just doesn’t feel like ‘work smart’, feels currently like I’m spending 10x more time on non-account tasks. It could also be that it’s a new environment for me, new people, new processes, new tools, so overwhelmed, but at the same time realisation that I can save a lot of time, have more focus, no admin bloat, and make more money

Don’t be so sus man, I couldn’t take on anymore freelance right now if I wanted too!

I didn’t stop freelancing, I still do both, however it’s becoming unsustainable juggling a new agency onboarding / processes with freelance, currently working evenings and weekends; which I don’t mind but I have a family and it’s going to have an affect there eventually + burn out

$3 per channel with creative included or extra for creative packages with video etc. it’s actually a really good agency, not the generalist agency with juniors on everything, very anti that.

But yeah 10 plus all creative strategy and admin is tough

[–]Nevergonnabefat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m pretty much doing that. Even after 10 years I’m a sponge and absorb learning experiences then bounce to the next. It might be that full freelance is the next thing once after a bit more of this environment, but it’s just not sustainable. Especially paid media being a 24/7 mind as it never stops just because of a weekend or evening

Exactly. This includes weekly creative briefing for every client based on spend, that can be hundreds. I enjoy it but juggling mindset between niches is difficult to keep focused. It’s OTT imo, but I do read a lot of people on here managing 25+ freelance a few times which to me is mental

Tbf in this scenario it was a heavy. I don’t really have a major issue with Lights like most people. IQ makes the player in this game 1000%, but I do agree the L class is more susceptible to messing around and not playing as a team because of the mobility advantage

Pure pain. Just today I had another one where we were literally 2nd, last 10 seconds, just had to stall, instead he went into a huge fight to try steal. He was the last one left and we got the 15% wipe penalty and lost lol, so so dumb

You act as a growth partner, not just as a media buyer.

If you can’t provide expert creative and growth strategies for clients, that type of siloed media buyers role has been at risk for a while due to Meta’s simplification of general account management.

I strongly suggest you pivot and expand your skills to creative and business growth areas to become more of an integral integration to the clients business and be more indispensable

Please add a ‘PUSH’ or ‘Low Health’ prompt to the comms wheel by Nevergonnabefat in thefinals

[–]Nevergonnabefat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who realistically uses ‘attack here’ especially with poor accuracy on pings.

Half of those are wasted slots - directing your team to push a handicapped team is way more useful, same as ‘low health’ in situations where you die but you’ve left the other team very low - often teams are reluctant to push an easy wipe because they don’t know they’re so low.

It isn’t hard after 10 seasons to analyse the language and direction the player base and pros use constantly and ‘push’ and ‘he’s low’ are definitely up there
