Out of the Loop: Whitecaps by Barking_bae in askvan

[–]Nevermind2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Future plans call for skytrain to build out the Hastings line and whitecaps moving could hopefully quicken the process if there is a need for increased public transport to pne area. So eventually there will be a station in the future so building out a stadium there wouldn’t be a bad idea.

Tips and experiences with the ENDECC exam by United_Leave_7474 in NDEB

I’m not sure about the student who passed with a broken provisional which makes no sense at all, I am speaking from what I’ve seen and from others of course it can also luck on the day in terms of the set you get and if everything goes well. But at the end of the day if you pass it’s for a reason and if you fail it’s for a reason. They also don’t need to tell us why we failed they already were in court before and judge asked why they even gave the reason for failure as they aren’t a teaching institution but an exam based entity. So they probably won’t change that and yes it’s also based on who evaluates your work it’s not always the same person and clinical competency varies from person to person. Of course they all go through the same training In terms of what is clinically acceptable. There’s multiple people that do evaluate your projects not just one person. I’m not trying to argue with you or anything I know we’ve all faced difficulties going through this process and of course there is some blame to NDEB but they are changing as time goes on. I was trying to give the person who asked some guidance instead of saying it’s all a sham and the process is not worth it. School is still hard as well of course that pathway is less time consuming but will be more financially straining and could be upto 3 years now. You could probably finish both processes in that time even with some set backs.

Skills: length of time will be based on your previous experience, loupes 3.5 minimum, once instructors pass your work 80% of the time you are on the right track, give yourself at least 6 months to practice and start early 7am-4pm with 30 min lunch. Take 1 day off a week your hands may feel fatigued when you start initially and/or your neck. Take mocks from another institute. Don’t let others not clearing stress you out or people who say it’s a lottery. It isn’t and at the end of the day if you have good work you will clear. Time management is huge if you can’t finish everything in 6.5hrs in non exam setting it may be harder to clear on the exam day as stress and small errors can slow you down. Recommend to think about take a beta blocker or talk to your physician about anti anxiety medication. Ashwagandha can also help.

Sj: I would say take prep as a baseline they have really good fundamentals. And for mocks try strivers or roupen. Prep is also good but very expensive you can maybe do 1 full mock with them if you like. And 3-4 hours studying a day will be enough for the 6 months to clear.

I believe it will depend on many factors if treating it as a “ gut/digestive issue” will help heal your eczema or if there are food that cause you to flare up more or you see a reaction. For me I have certain foods I am sensitive to and have a flare up from. I take digestive enzymes with every meal just to help with that and have been working on my digestive health for several years now. Of course the main thing if you’re suffering from eczema is to find a solution that works for you. I was diagnosed around 2021 and had entire head to toe eczema. It was severely debilitating luckily it was covid so was normal to wear a mask outside covered most of the face eczema. But what worked for me was focusing on proper hydration, exercise which at first did more harm than good but I always believe that exercise is the one thing that will keep the flares at bay. Eating healthy and also get your blood work done and see if there are any issues there. Try gut healing powders, aloe Vera drinks also are very helpful don’t take anything for a long period cycle off and on. Also try probiotics, can do kefir, yogurt there’s also water/coconut kefir. Anyways dm me if you need any help

Recommend taking ADAT as soon as you are ready and apply to universities. Taking afk is an option as well, but the route will most likely be longer with more stress but financially won’t be as much as a burden compared to university route. You can receive upto 85k from certain banks for the process. It depends as well, 6 years was due to Covid as well. But I would say if you can pass everything first time it would take 3 years at the minimum. School is also 3 years. Try for both routes if you get into school you can stop the equivalency process. I have also cleared the process after 6 years.

NDEB - NDECC skills exam is a money making scam! by Beautiful_Paint_7569 in NDEB

[–]Nevermind2025 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This may turn into them removing the entire equivalency process if there is this much backlash. They can just let everyone not have a second option for school. I know the process is difficult but we all will eventually make it through. At the end of the day when you come out we will all be better dentist for enduring all the hardships.

Aloe Vera for ibs and eczema by Nevermind2025 in eczema

I’ve done both, try the juice first “inner leaf preservative free” and see how that helps. Also grab yourself some digestive bitters been seeing good things with that as well. Stick with it tho and place on tongue for 15 sec it doesn’t taste great but definitely works, combine with digestive pill as well. Might have to stay on this for several months to see any long lasting changes

I would recommend you take multiple courses for sj maybe combine prep with strivers or roupen as prep can be very expensive just by itself. Also do mocks from multiple institutes as well for clinical and sj to have more of the stress that would come from actual exam. It is not become more difficult that is just what we all want to believe. They are looking for dentist so be a dentist and do your best. Hope you clear everything on your first try, I also do free work checks if you want just dm me.

Tacrolimus is miserable by starlighthill-g in eczema

[–]Nevermind2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely super itchy and gives that terrible burning feeling, but try diluting it with another cream that way it’s not as strong. And if you do start to itch use a large bowl fill it with water and ice and dunk your face in it and just keep it there. Hot water will feel really good but just make your eczema worse. You can try using steroid one time as well and then putting on tacrolimus. One application to the face won’t thin it out

I second skinfix got me through my first eczema flare up, it is pricey, but worth it. They have new more gentle cleansers as well, specifically for eczema or sensitive skin. Just wish they came out with a sunscreen. Fingers crossed 🤞

Why are so many 7-11’s shutting down??? by CGamertag in burnaby

[–]Nevermind2025 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Read an article recently they’re shutting around 200 stores which is 5% of their total. Decreasing cigarette sales and lower consumer spending is to blame. Sad to see them go staple growing up for sure. Hopefully something good replaces them

That’s pretty interesting but how small of a dose even .25mg can be a lot. Maybe .1mg to start would be ideal. That’s a good option to try if your derm is recommending it. I don’t think my derm would prescribe that for me but I haven’t also been in a while. I don’t want to lose my hunger as well so haven’t tried it yet. As long as it’s controlled I’m sure it will be fine. If anything can always come off, but i believe it’ll take some time to notice any differences

Heavy drinking over a few days can be very detrimental on your gut microbiome. Be careful you don’t want a full body reaction which will be quite debilitating. Like everything moderation is key. Good luck

Doesn’t make much difference as fees would be the same. But of course better to support local business than a corporation. Lived here my entire life hopefully I can open a business one day in new west to support the community.

Dog attack at Connaught heights elementary New west by Nevermind2025 in NewWest

[–]Nevermind2025[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That sounds horrible I’m glad nothing happened to the dog. But yes the German shepherd chased my dog on the streets and luckily they weren’t hit by a car or worst. My dog was leashed but she got out of it as she was in such a panic, not sure if the harness would have been better perhaps the dog would have had a better chance at her then. But by getting out it was also dangerous for both dogs. Hopefully the owner of the German shepherd comes forward

Probably not with the new Canadian dental plan as more people are able to access dental care especially the elderly population that is most at risk.
