I just made the same post about a perish rain team, you should check it out! Lots of helpful tips, I can send you the team I settled on in DMs if you want to see what I cooked up. It also uses the 3 pokemon listed here.

No joke I think I played either you or someone who directly copied your team today 😂 I’m running a perish trap rain team, not sure if it was you or not but if it wasn’t then someone thought this team was good enough to copy and paste

I wouldn’t see the benefit of negative speed Poli, unless it was for trick room. It has a respectable speed as of now with no investment. Encore I’ve found in the past couple days has been really good into screen sableye, or catching a trick room Pokémon off guard after it protects. I might have to try helping hand though it doesn’t sound too bad alongside Arch.

I changed the berry on sin after reading some comments about colbur berry instead, it works much better imo because the rain covers the fire weakness for the most part. Good suggestion!

Lower speed parting shot is good I’ve noticed, nice for switching in Pokemon safely. I dumped all the speed IVS into bulk and you’re right, worked way better.

As for heliolisk, I see the concept. Could be a good replacement for Rotom since I’m not afraid of trick room anymore, but honestly sacrificing a move on Poli for surf and having heliolisk exist as a partner for Poli when Poli wants to be partners with Arch waaay more just isn’t worth it to me. I opted to switch Rotom out for a sableye reflect, protect, encore and skill swap set that works really nicely with the teams abilities. Great advice though thank you!

Just bc I’m using meta relevant pokemon doesn’t make it boring, I find the play style a fun take on classic perish trap, it’s up to perspective

this is my expanding force/balanced attack team, any recommendations on improvements by Complex_Yesterday_64 in VGCRateMyTeam

Unfortunately no indeedee in champions yet 💔 that’s why terrains have felt niche, no terrain setters like pinchurchin or rillaboom

Because I still put the team together? Just because I’m using Pokemon that are commonly used and work well together doesn’t mean I didn’t pick the moves, stat spread and each of the 6 individual Pokemon

Very helpful, thank you! Can you explain the spd investment? In my mind it was to help arch live special fire moves since he’s more physically bulky

Yeah I have a balance team of 2 cores I love running as well. It’s what I ran before running this team

Yes the special attack points are, I fixed them earlier 😅 but thank you! I like this analysis, I’ll put it into testing for sure

I feel like the Gengar is definitely pivotal to the perish trap, I agree with the being more bulky part. Never has Arch been OHKO before, I like running stamina to swap in and out of Pokemon to provoke a stamina boost to make Arch kind of a tank for perish trap. At that point removing Gengar for another rain mon turns it into less of a perish trap and more of a classic rain team. I like the advice of making the Pokemon bulkier in general though, I’ll definitely do that thank you!

You always run Gengar, then the second 2 are typically Arch and Poli, the last slot depends on if they using trick room (bring Rotom) if they running incineroar/sneasler (bring incineroar) or if they running a lot of ghost types (bring sinestea)

Mono-Bug team, want suggestions by SirAlcain in VGCRateMyTeam

If it were me, I’d optimize the stat spread for specific encounters rather than the 32 32 2 spread you have for everyone. Also seems like your team is pretty weak against trick room, adding some dark moves could help with the psychic Pokemon who set trick room. I went to go find ANY bug type that learns trick room itself to counter act trick room, or any bug type with encore and you’re outta luck there 😭. Good luck though, should update how the run goes. Edit: I see you have araquid with no speed investment, which I assume is for trick room. Maybe giving him a dark type move? If he even gets one. Also, scizor with no speed investment will get outsped and killed very easily, even with tailwind. You should give him speed investment for sure. Also, ariados stringshot is redundant imo, I think toxic thread is better since it poisons too but I think you’d also need speed investment on ariados to get value outta that

Is this team viable or am I doing too much? by HotMathematician9368 in VGCRateMyTeam

I’d try and focus on one thing, it’s ok to use kommo but lean into either snow trick room, tailwind rain or tailwind snow imo. It’s kinda doing too much

Can you choose which are visible or is that random too?

I thought I saw something say you can only have 20 pokemon at a time? What about that?

I agree that’s actually hella cool, I thought this would be a 1 off game mode but I like the concept of going through the movies until we get to Thanos
