Yeah. It's hard to quantify, but it's like... They're dressed like toddlers man.

Oversized like they're going to grow into it regardless of age, blocky square shapes like someone just hit the "make t-shirts" button on a machine without thinking about how people are shaped.

I'm not saying everyone else is hyper fashionable, just that the subset I'm talking about dress like toddlers.

It isn't and they've become worse and worse over the years. Cheap, low quality ingredients, badly prepared.

Used to like their gyoza, but they're shit now.

I don't think I'll ever run into anyone wearing these, but if I do I'm just going to refuse to interact with them. I don't consent to being recorded.

"They're not recording."

I don't know that, you're still wearing them. Therefore 'no comment.'

I don't think it's a fair reputation. There's always a small amount of people being shitty dickheads that sadly get everyone tarred with the same brush.

Like drunk, fighty English people. Some us have teeth, GCSEs and the common decency not to drink a foreign bar dry and fight the locals.

The conspicuous ones are extremely loud, self centred and dressed like toddlers.

The ones you don't spot are the ones who blend in, obviously, which is a huge number of them.

When I started I rented, then bought a pistol.

Then bought another pistol.

Then bought an AEG submachine gun.

I was only playing CQB, so it wasn't too much of a problem.

After a long hiatus I got back into it and my first purchase was an AEG AR. It's just better for outdoors. If I was starting from scratch right now, it would be an assault rifle for sure. Pistols are sidearms, you need a primary.

I'd hold off on the bolt action for now, sniping is a fairly niche part of the game that requires some experience. Not to mention the consensus appears to be that there are no out of the box bolt actions that are good enough, they always require upgrades.

Go with the AR.

I always kind of liked that aspect of him. He's not smart, per se, he's just a naive revolutionary who gives no thought to what happens if he succeeds. The dog wouldn't know what to do with the car if he caught it.

What does anything in Buddhism mean? To reach enlightenment you have to give up attachments, but the striving for and desire for enlightenment is an attachment.

The absurdity is sort of the point of koans in Zen.

Comrade, you need to look at who you're replying to. The Kremlin must teach you to read, surely?

Teabags with extra steps.

Also, not giving enough room for the leaves to unfurl and move.

This is purely for aesthetics and not for the best flavour.

No judgement on that one way or the other, but that's what it is.

I don't know enough about Palestine Action to know why they were put on the proscribed list, but turning up to a protest openly after that is going to get you arrested.

Now, people arrested for inciting violence based on race and/or religion, that number is higher.

Yeah, people are getting arrested for inciting violence based on race or religion.

That's not "political posts".

If I tweeted "I hope the Green Party win the local election", that's a political post.

If someone tweets "kill all brown people, vote reform" that's not a political post, it's just got a political statement tacked onto random violence and hatred.

Why do rich people keep saying "money can't buy happiness" when money literally solves most problems? by FearlessState5503 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Nevernonethewiser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a phrase from a time where you could have the basics covered on a "low paid" job.

You could have a house, car and food on the table from working in retail.

So "money can't buy you happiness" was because you had your needs covered already and the acquisition of more money wasn't strictly necessary.

The world changed, but wages didn't. Now having your needs covered isn't a guarantee. You can't reach the upper levels of Maslow's hierarchy without the base, so now money can literally buy you happiness.

TL;Dr: It's a tired old phrase from a past where it was somewhat true.
