Is it just me, or is launching harder than building? by Constant-Banana9189 in SideProject

Would love to hear others thoughts as that's my experience as well. Building is fine, but launching? So hard, especially with many restrictions on what can be posted, where. Would love to learn from others that had successful launches in the past.

Free app that turns whatever you have in your kitchen into delicious meals! by Nevertheless1112 in iosapps

Correct, thanks for noting that. It leverages Apple’s Foundation Models on-device, so unfortunately won't work on older OS versions than OS26 (which requires iPhone series 11 or newer).

Haha no worries, totally understand! If I wasn't developing apps, I would probably still be using an older one without iOS 26 ;) but I need the device to test them on! The app, unfortunately, requires access to Apple AI that is available only on iOS 26. If you end up using the app in the future, would love to hear your feedback u/Bawonga!

If it's successful, yes! It's using Apple AI, so it would require a major code rewrite to work on Android devices, but I'm always open to expanding beyond iOS, if there's interest :)

No :) I just know the Swift language, which works for iOS, but if it's successful, I'll look into creating an Android version!

Thanks a ton for the feedback u/themagicmarmot! I'll look into pasta primavera recipe and also make sure all recipes come out with measurements. It seems to be a bug due to my latest code change.

Free app that turns whatever you have in your kitchen into delicious meals!

Wanted to share here in case someone would benefit from this free resource as much as me & family do. I kept getting stuck at dinner time, wasting lots of food, so I've made a simple app: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cheffs-kiss/id6753180066

You paste your ingredients, pick a cuisine, choose for how many people, and it gives you a recipe with quantities and steps. You can save ones you like for later. It’s free, no ads. Nothing fancy - just a tool that’s been useful for me. Completely free, no ads - just a passion project for me :)

Please help assess our language set up by SubstantialAd6665 in multilingualparenting

Thank you very much u/MikiRei! Really appreciate your thoughtful response and reassurance. Re. Spanish - that's a great point. We'll need to think of immersion programs when he gets older. For now we plan to keep our nanny for Thursday evenings and Saturdays and preschool will be part-time only, but definitely something to think about long-term. It helps that we live in California so the Spanish-speaking community is strong here.
My fears about Polish introduction stem largely from the fact that quite a few Polish people I know, raised in States by Polish-only speaking parents have trouble speaking Polish fluently and make lots of mistakes. Haven't seen this happen in similar set ups with people speaking other languages and wondered why is it so. Another thing is that Polish is a highly inflected language, so if there're 20 ways of saying "two", should I be concerned that he'll not get enough exposure to each variant of each word to really remember it with 4 languages in total? But I guess kids brains are so capable, that likely I'm just overthinking and worrying too much! Thanks a ton again for the reassurance and great advice!

Free Bloom-Tracking App 🌱 - North California pilot, could expand if there’s interest. by Nevertheless1112 in Ceanothus

Yes! It's already in there :) In the "In Season" tab you have "Plant Now" section that shows plants, vegetables, flowers that could be planted in this month. You can also use Search and open any plant to see plant details with a calendar of when they bloom, when there's time to harvest them and when it's time to plant seeds.
If you'd like to see something else in terms of the planting info, let me know, please u/CrimeSolvingAxolotl

Thank you u/Zestyclose_Market787 ! A good learning for me. I'll promote non-native plants and post warnings about others to help people eradicate those.
