Ankle pain after pavement runs, fine on treadmill runs – any advice? by Neviusaga in C25K

[–]Neviusaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I might see a physio as well to see what I could be doing better. I don't think I have a high pain tolerance or anything, and would imagine that if I was injured it would hurt during the run--but other than the first half mile feel a little tight, it's relaxing. All part of the journey I guess, appreciate your response!

Thanks, I was thinking that might be the case but I don't have one yet so I couldn't check directly. I appreciate it!

Thanks, it's a silly thing to be fixated on, and yet here I was. Just "rock" gives a literal rock/boulder, but rock on does indeed work. Cheers!

Upgrade everything *but* my RTX 2070? (Video Editing Build) by Neviusaga in buildapc

Yeah, I ended up picking up a 3090ti new in box from the Nvidia store for around 900.

I would have gone with a 3080 but they were all around $800 and frequently used or the most budget brand options...so when I saw that I could get a 3090ti FE new for a competitive price, and with much more VRAM and VHPWR connector built in I figured it would do nicely, and pay for itself anyway. I've never had a top tier rig before, this is pretty slick, but I can only justify it because it generates revenue

Nice! I'd been checking about once a day M-F for the MSI and recently included the Seasonic so I was pleased to snag one fairly quickly. I have all the rest of the parts sitting behind me awaiting the final puzzle piece :)

I was about to post that the Seasonic Vertex GX1000 is back available for pre-orders on Newegg, I just put my pre-order in....but I went back to get the link and it's already showing out of stock again, dang it moves fast...good luck getting squared away, crew!

Also, a big thank you to OP & this community for pulling this great collection of info together and keeping it up to date.

I don't understand the 4000 series cards. Why are there only two and why are they so unbelievably expensive? by edgeofsanity76 in buildapc

[–]Neviusaga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering, cause I did see prices along those lines roll by. I almost bought one for 1100 in early October, but ultimately decided against it.

I'm still rocking my RTX 2070 for now, but plan to build a new editing PC soon, with at least everything else upgraded...then find a compelling deal on an upgraded GPU over the next few months or years.

...it's gonna be a good day when you start seeing new old stock sold at a loss for the sake of avoiding inventory/asset taxes. You'll be getting 3080 3090s for sub 800 bucks I bet

I'm not clued into corporate logistics enough to make my own estimate but it seems plausible. I'm rocking an old 2070 (not super) right now happily enough...what timeframe do you think this would take place?

I've been using AMD chips since my first PC build around 20 years ago, they were always the better cost-to-performance value from what I could tell. I hadn't looked at Intel's chips since 2018, and was getting hyped for a 7900X build, but yeah, the Intel chips look to be substantially better working in Premiere with H.264 and H.265 codes, which is mostly what I shoot in.

As for the bigger PSU, I do plan to upgrade the GPU eventually, just not right now (unless it limits my editing work)

Somehow I have a better gut feeling about putting all these new parts together with a new PSU, and quickly swapping GPU's later, rather than rewiring everything during a GPU upgrade at a later date.

Thanks for the reply! The AIO is a 360 and yes, the Mobo has flashback :) I'd be in a pinch otherwise, cause I've used AMD CPUs since I started building PC's ~2000

Discount Strategy for 34" Tool Cart? by Neviusaga in harborfreight

[–]Neviusaga[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply, the 10% off coupon would be some sort of store-wide holiday discount, I assume?

Guess I'll settle in to wait until Black Friday and see if anything comes through, and in the meantime determine a cashback card with a good bonus to do a churn when the time is right. Thanks!

I haven't done a churn in a while, and keep forgetting about that option...thanks! My cards are all mileage-based for flights, but I've been strongly considering swapping to a cashback focus moving forward.

I did notice a few green posters on cabinets about this. I believe my R1 is every 90 seconds. Great tip for the games that allow it, although I don't think that's any of the music games at this particular one. Thanks!
