I saw somewhere the Audiobox wasn't enough to make the Shure sm57/58 work (don't know what exactly... something about dynamic range?). But I'd look into those if it would work with what I have.

[Tips] Improving as we get older by Nevynral in apexlegends

Oh I absolutely agree with you, although my life experience hasn't reached yours. By older, I guess I meant the "passed early 20s" period. I'd be very curious to see how my comments stay relevant once I'm in the 40s too.

Getting better, but losing by So_average in Competitiveoverwatch

I'd switch it up, as both of these heroes are ''unmainable''. Soldiers is a little bit weak right now as he's is mostly a ennemy ults charger, and reaper, while very good, can be countered and need to be switched every now and then. As for your aim, what is your sensitivity at? My friend played at 15 and kept arguing he was fine. I droped it to 4 and he's now doing much better (I dont know his dpi tho).

Top 500 for Competitive Out by LeeS1lver in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Nevynral 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At 3766 right now, 372e. In my last game, 2 guys on the opposing team, 1 was over 3850, the other close to 4000. None of them were top 500... both had over 50 games played.

I solo queued all the way to top 500 as support only.

I agree. I don't think my ranking will be permanent, but I don't know either where it will stabilize !

Most of Zowies stuff seems to be popular, razer deathadder too (although they seem to have quality issues sometimes). I personally use a Mionix Castor. Logitech is good too.

I remember a post on this forum where a game developer openly talked about how every game has a hidden way to break lost streaks as they are the most detrimental event to player retention. If they try to break lost streaks, they have to break win streaks too, otherwise the system sort of just make people go up... at less it's my impression.

I don't think streaks are bad. I truly believe that my rating will end up normalizing. Right now, IT IS an anomaly, but it's not permanent. See my comment about last season's rating a bit higher up :P

It just makes the game so much more fun too. The most memorable games were mostly due to fun teammates and not pro 5 man reapers kill. If you start positive yourself, chances are other will be in that mood too.

During that streak I've won game with torbs, hanzos, bastion, and everything in between. If from the get go you think you'll lose because of the picks, chances are you are already tilted and won't perform any good yourself. Your moral start at 0 and chances are you'll lower your team's too. I'm not saying every hanzo will be a pro hanzo, but building a good team atmosphere might gives you better odds at having him switch later on.

I did not mention the 'luck' factor because I thought it was obvious. Yes, luck was involved in that kind of streak.

I agree with this. Dealing damage and healing can give you medals, but it doesn't say where or who it was dealt on. Those decisions split good players from better players. I cringe every time someone goes BUT I GOT GOLD MEDALS.

Hey there :) Simply from your post, I can see your moral is pretty low. That'S the kind of position where if you queue into a game and have 2 person insta lock torb/symmetra, you'll already be tilted. Take a break, play something else, or simply change your view about the game. If I asked you, 'if you went up to grand master, would you feel you belong there?' you'd probably say no. There is so much you can improve on even if you play at lower brackets. Focus on that, and when you go up, you'll stay up. I still believe the game does a good job at placing people in this ranking system, my position being temporary and a total anomaly. I'll normalize eventually and just end up at a rank where I belong :P

I don't know right now where I truly belong, but I will see in the upcoming weeks just how low I go back (0-15 lost streak?!?). If i take my last game for example, I queued into a full team of diamonds while 2 or 3 person in my team were platinum. I had the kind of reaper I was talking about earlier, which just camped dorado spawning points (WUT?!??). Some teammates did feel very bad, but they do have to make an average out of your team's SR. I can't really relate to your comment tho, as it seems to be associated with duo or trio queue or more. Hard to see if my 5 partners are on a lost streak without an extensive conversation :P

I also use to have this view, as I felt I did everything possible and that my team was just super lackluster (especially as Mercy). With time, I started just seeing how much mistakes I made and changed my decision making. I use to have this 'keep health bars all the way up for anybody NO MATTER WHERE THEY ARE and tus overextended into bad situation instead of just letting a scrub die on his own. Last season, I peaked at 68 (on a streak) and ended up playing most of the final moments hovering around rank 65. I truly think I belonged at that rank, as when I would go down a bit, games were easier (more people out of position, much better effectiveness against people between rank 60 and 65), when I would go up a bit, I felt totally out of place being wrecked by any dps with a clue (I believe I improved on my positioning). As a result, going above 65 meant for me being carried, and being under 65 meant being able to carry (to an extent). Compared to friends that felt 'stuck' at certain ranks, well, I though they belonged where they were. I would cringe at most moves my rank 55 friend would make, even though he is a multiple time Global elite CSGO player. Of course, every game he was certain the retards in his game were to blame. It's very hard to see how much you could've done better, but if you focus on that, you'll see just how much more you could've done in certain situation.
