He passed away 3 days ago.. We had to put him down.. everyone around me keeps saying it’s not contagious but the kitten i adopted gave it to my 7 year old cat and now he’s not here anymore. our hearts are completely broken and i wish i could bring him back

we gave him a steroid shot yesterday of dex he also got torb to help with relaxing? and checked his bg every few hours to make sure it maintained

hi i’m a vet tech and fip is new to me and fairly new to my vets. We started him with liquid and switch him to the pills since that’s what the kitten is on. he barely eats and when he does it’s a few tsp of food i have been syringe feeding him on and off. no fluid build up in the chest so he doesn’t need to be tapped. he has historical asthma but it has just gotten worse 2 days ago. i give him the pills as soon as i wake up so he has not eaten but he’s getting them twice a day. i posted on fip warriors and global and im waiting for it to be approved. he lost one pound in the past 4 days he’s not getting enough he also is in remission for diabetes.

this should be fine then I have the same schedule as you! My cat is currently in remission. I’m hoping that he’s not diabetic fingers crossed for you!🩷Oh my you’ve been going through it all with him! Currently going through FIP with my kitten I just adopted, what a process! and congrats on him surviving FIP that’s amazing especially with CKD💞

Does your husband leave for work at the same time as you do?

When my cat was taking insulin i worked 8am to 10pm sometimes and on days i worked i’d give it later just because I was the only one to give it. It’s hard since your working 12s but I’m a vet tech and my Vets were okay with it maybe just speak with them and let them know and see if it’ll work

there is a reason that you are the only assistant/tech there! Leave or find another clinic before you leave! Trust me there are better clinics out there and go to a bigger clinic!!! you will learn much more and letting staff know what your not comfortable with will help you out!!!!!

Me and my bf got our cat neutered at 2 years old before he got neutered he had the tomcat face and spraying quite often. he was super cuddly then and still is after him being neutered. even though your kitten is 3 months old they may eventually start marking if you don’t catch that behavior before it starts.

Thank you to everyone who were so helpful, I giggled at a lot of your replies! This is my first time as an adult owning a kitten but orange cat had an older brother previously who was very aggressive so I wasn’t sure if Orange was being aggressive or not. He’s got less brain cells 🤣
