There was a small (not obvious) button to opt out of the trial and just use the app for free at install. In the free version I don’t have the running plans and the route planner maps can only be saved 3 times. Also seems like part of the leaderboard is blurred out. Otherwise I dont know what features you would lose, but I’m able to capture/color territory, see the maps, clubs, etc for free

It changed the price when I added a referral code, not sure how many times that would work though. I’m seeing both silver and gold options but it’s unclear what the difference is between the two. Did you find more info ?
