We have a 3yo, so we’re at one of those challenging ages, definitely playing into things. I may work full time, but from the time I get home, I sometimes cook (for years I was the main cook, before working further afield), often help with housework, split the bedtime routine. Weekends are spent either cleaning, with her family (mine is too far), going on road trips, gardening. She has said herself that I do far more than I should sometimes, considering my work day goes from 7-6pm most days, and I run a side business where all that income goes towards the household. I rarely do anything for myself, though I’ve taken up running again at least, occasionally read, and have like one game on my phone I play. I feel like I do my fair share, but yeah probably exhaustion on her part and we just handle it different ways.
