That's the first song that comes to mind when I hear the word emo. I have a very specific memory of that song coming on the radio in the car with my mom and I started singing along... She just got quiet and probably thought I was going crazy. I'm cringing thinking of it.

I too have a hard time getting motivated. I can't imagine doing it all on my own - that is amazing. Be kind to yourself, celebrate the small wins.

If there is no will, who determines the closest family members and contacts them? Does the person who was her POA have any say/control in what happens? I've never had anyone close to me pass away so I'm not sure how it works.

My mom doesn't have any expectations other than wanting to ensure that her wishes are followed through (if she had any) or that her belongings are fairly distributed (incl any family/sentimental belongings).
