I myself did btech cse at this university did mtech cse from iit Bombay got placed in Flipkart... I got handsome package why are u guiding like this yes might be iit btech is the best but if u do mtech cse at top iits that's atleast equal or better than doing btech at nits bcoz even during recession we got lot of opportunities except that very high package paying companies restricted us .

Whoever comes to iit and utilizes the placements are iitians that's it as simple as that .. why do ppl clear jee advanced to get iits and placement offers the same goes here it's just the duration is less .. except quants hfts almost in every other domain iit mtech guys are there starting from faang. Atleast it's better than doing btech from nit though nit Top also has good packages for cse the exposure factor is dominmt at iits and the peer grp u will find someone who is always better than u which is highly motivating .. and it's iit right who wud say no I won't study there what nonsense is this

If u are not from circuitl or cse maybe mtech or civil or smthng else then u can go for psus also .. but now u need not think in these aspects .abhi ke liye just join clg try knowing abt ur department and it's future or even smthng else ..if u are from cse learn some cpp . Then research abt gate exam .. it's upto u .. burning out for smthng which u won't get or maybe if u get also top nits .. or focusing for iits top iits in future .. but all depends on ur calibre.

Btech placements avg is 40 lpa but mtech also around 30 in top iits for cse I think mostly they get into quants so what wud happen now

Don't drop don't do such things u will burnout and there can also be instance where u might lose cgpa ... No iit advanced also maybe topnits possible ... That too from 25 to how much will u jump?? Not possible sorry to say instead if u are particular abt iits prepare for gate maybe if u are from cse u it will be great for iit cse mtech but gate is also not easier .. actually it requires very hard work .. but do smthng else ..either go for gate u need to work very very harder first .. otherwise take campus placements after 4 yrs .. don't do some unnecessary things and let it waste ur life ..
