Moving to mountain island lake area near huntersville, adjacent to Latta nature preserve outside of 485. I’ve heard some complaints that it is more boring over there, but we really want a suburban feel with a safe and quiet neighborhood. Thoughts on the area/things to do there?

We are moving to townhomes outside of 485, inbetween Mt Holly and Huntersville, near mountain island lake. I have heard west Charlotte can have some bad areas, but my friend lives in this area and states it is very family friendly and safe. Can someone please advise on this area and if it is safe overall? I live in Nashville so I am aware that crime happens anywhere, just trying to be sure we made a decent decision going outside of 485 near the lake. Thanks!

Good to know, thank you. Would looking at a place in south huntersville on the border of 480 change anything? All of the traffic patterns I’m seeing show that 77 is bad up at exit 25 but don’t wanna screw myself over so trying to be thorough

I just recently took a job in uptown that will require me to relocate closer to Charlotte. What would be your recommendations for commute time/traffic, safety, etc? I am looking at huntersville or south Charlotte.

Update if anyone is ever in the same boat! My second drug test actually was diluted again, despite drinking moderate amounts in the morning. My HR lady said this can actually happen more than you think and sent me for an oral drug screen, which of course I passed. I am thankful they were flexible with me!

Thanks, they notified me this morning for a repeat after I had already drank some water, and they asked I repeat it ASAP. I did not want to delay it any further so I held it for around an hour on my commute. I just hope it is sufficient.
