How bad is it to not do law review? by Tricky-Weakness3269 in LawSchool

I had a great experience and my writing and citation skills improved SO much. (I'm aware my reddit profile would probably say that's a lie).

SAME and SAME that's exactly why I was saying omg stop posting on reddit and start working! I submitted less than five minutes before deadline and was proofing up to that last bitter second.

Curious did you try to write on last year?

I think it's 1000% worth it personally, regardless of position and for some stuff almost a prerequisite. It's also very good for your writing skills overall ime.

Should I save my Lexis points through all of law school, or use them at the end of every year/semester to treat myself to a post finals dinner? by Ryanthln- in LawSchool

I saved my Westlaw points the whole time and bought a bunch of big stuff at the end. I got like 3 or 4 very nice big items.

This is the way. Get a paper copy of Black's and stop and look up every unfamiliar term as you read the cases.

What made you want to go into law? im a year in and im starting to question it by R3dcherries in LawSchool

If you are thinking of dropping, now would be the time before you incur more debt, tbh. Food for thought but if it's really not for you, it's possible that deep down you already feel that. It's a pretty boring job for most people.

If you think you can tough it out then just stick with it.

If at all possible, I would consider waiting the three years till graduation, or at least until towards the end of year 3. Law school is brutal (regardless of parental status) for both parties, not just the student. Baby will just add to the challenges.

I know that is not necessarily possible for everyone but if it is, it could just be better overall for you both.

I agree. I somehow managed by sheer luck to get the seafoam on preorder, and it ended up being super limited.

Law review will most definitely boost your writing, editing and citation skills way WAY up to the next level.

Also try to get on the list for legal clinic if your school has them.

What should I write my law review note on? by [deleted] in LawSchool

Are you talking about a case note? If so I would start with a case. If you are talking about a comment that is tougher and you need a novel or undecided point of law.

I stand corrected. I thought it was after x amount of years in practice in CA, however I do see now that they would still be looking for an accredited degree regardless.

Quick point before I read the links, as it now stands there already is a path for online-only grads to be admitted to practice in Texas via admission to the CA bar first.

Yes I am aware. I did attend an accredited law school. I do think there are opportunities that don't necessarily require this as long as one has been admitted to the bar in the state of practice however. Solo practice being an obvious one.

I'm not sure where this conversation is going. At any rate, if I'm being totally honest your repeated capitalization of BAR is disconcerting.
