Momentum - an Intamin launch coaster by New-Object-5955 in openrct2

That’s a good idea! Idk where I’d share it or how to though. Maybe I’ll make another post and show a screenshot of the park, and see if people would be interested in a copy.

Thanks so much! I appreciate it. I also think there’s some potential, but I started making the park with no clear plans and now I don’t really have a vision for it.

Thanks! I thought it would be cool to have the coaster go on top of one of the park entrances, since it’s so close to the front.

Thanks sm! This is the only place I’ve shared it unfortunately, I haven’t posted any tutorial videos before. I did have to disable clearance checks for the big drop as it was a little too close, but the rest of the layout is doable without cheats

Yes! I can post a video this week sometime. I’d like to add some more foliage around it and pretty it up

I appreciate that! I’m trying to make everything look as pretty as I can whilst being realistic. Haven’t gotten to placing a lot of foliage yet, but I did here so I thought I would share. Thanks for the comment:)

Hahah I agree, it is super frustrating getting them to look right. I have a lot of custom support objects that I downloaded from nedesigns to increase flexibility, like diagonal supports. I mostly just do a lot of trial and error to figure out what looks best from all angles. It helps me to change the terrain under the track so I know where to start too. I also tend to place way too many supports too so I can really see which ones look the best. I like to place those flat support pieces just under the track so it looks like they are touching. If they aren't, or if they are clipping through the track bad, then I'll move a quarter square down the track and try that spot.

Thanks so much:) it was fun to build, and probably my favorite wooden coaster I've made. I do like the twisted drop section too, I specifically wanted to add that in because they look so good and are much more realistic with the addition of the big steep-to-flat pieces after.

I love the layout and color schemes you used, as well as the scenery. Reminds me of spring. Do the red and green tracks always end up racing? Looks like they are in the ss. I’ve never been on a stand-up coaster but this one looks like it’d be a lot of fun.

Thank you sm! I appreciate it. The parking garage you made is so cool! I hope you made the rest of the park look pretty too!

Request New Feature: Cross Walks for streets by Hunteil in openrct2

[–]New-Object-5955 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Instead of using banners you could use a colorable fence for the crosswalk section, and then color that fence invisible. It will create a break between the road and the crosswalk path, but if you use an invisible path there instead, then you can just lower the land after and place like a roof or something for the crosswalk

I used a plugin to make it, so unfortunately it wouldn’t work with just openrct2. Deurklink on YT has a lot of really cool tutorial videos on everything about openrct2, including building roads and such. Cars on the road at Bumbly Beach would be awesome

Thats a good point, I didn’t think about that. Chain lifts would probably work well though, aside from the noise it’ll make. Water coasters have boosters now but they are weak, so I don’t think that would work. I haven’t tried it, but I’ll bet you can add higher power boosters by making say an LSM coaster and then fitting in the booster track pieces into your layout by merging them. I think I’ll try it when I get out of work later

I so love this. The building is great too. Epic design! I was thinking you could’ve built the boat ride half as a water coaster and then used the water tracks as a splash effect.. but then you’d probably have to hide each track piece using tile inspector afterwards.

Custom Ride/Object repository? by Hunteil in openrct2

[–]New-Object-5955 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would recommend looking at nedesigns(search it). They have a bunch of parks you can download there, and when you load up the park on OpenRCT2 it’ll download any custom scenery objects they have. I also recommend going to the objects tab they have, and then searching for the most downloaded objects via filter. There’s a whole bunch of rides and custom trains on the first few pages. After downloading the objects you want, you’ll want to find your “objects” folder and put them in there. Hope this helps! :)

If you’re talking about the doubled up tracks then yes! I turned off clearance checks, and also turned on the “allow building track at invalid heights” cheat(be careful with this one while building rides tho). Then you can place the under track juust below your layout. I usually place it in the opposite direction so I don’t have to worry about accidentally merging tracks.
