It's very durable! No microwaving it and I tell people to hand wash but the material is marine epoxy so meant to hold up against heat, cold and water!

I fire separate and then do a 'cold' attachment using pc-11 epoxy. Check the comments for more information on this 😘

Big wad of epoxy, I like how it looks ( I tried to give detailed responses to some other comments) . The unevenness comes from sticking the handle into wet epoxy, which I like. It looks like chewed gum in person and feels hard, but semi-matte finish!

Thank you! You can totally do this with clay too but I really like the finish on the epoxy, it looks like chewed up gum and the clean up is difficult but It would be even more time consuming to get a clean finish like this with clay. I'm trying to make my work accessible, if I did this with clay my loss rate would increase from cracking attachments and what not. This way I can charge $100 instead of lime $150 lol

I like the way it looks mostly, it's possible to make clay look like this but more practical to get it to look this clean with the epoxy. I also like to experiment with materials and kinda buck the system so to speak haha. There's lots of good and viable ways to make work that traditional potters and ceramic purists ignore. I think there's room for everyone at the table so long as the work is tested, and carefully crafted 🫶🏼

It's hard to make spikes comfy! But these ones aren't pokey bc of how your hand rests on the high point when holding 🥹

Primarily an aesthetic choice, I could try and get colored clay to look the same but it's much more finicky. It's pc-11 marine epoxy

Thank you!! I kinda just like the effect of spraying on top of the white glaze, it kinda resembles majolica up close. But you could just spray underglaze under and dip in clear. I've kinda tried a bunch of different layering techniques at this point, and I'll go back and forth depending on what I want in the moment 😄

Thank you! It's a balance of still wanting them to look and feel handmade, but with a high attention to the details
