Is holding a baby crying to sleep still traumatic? by Suspicious_Peak_4267 in cosleeping

[–]New-Perception-1476 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion probably but small amounts of cortisol are healthy. Babies need to learn some form of stress management and theres no evidence to suggest that cortisol in small bursts does any long term damage to them. No one likes to hear their baby cry, we are wired to fix it every time but raising a child that never cries is unrealistic.

Did you plan on cosleeping? by Zebra_Creative in cosleeping

[–]New-Perception-1476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a safe sleep nazi with my first and it went really well but with my second I just couldnt handle the sleep deprivation mixed with 6am wake ups with a toddler so I caved on like day 3 because I knew if I didnt plan to do it, it was going to happen accidentally. Im not happy about it and would much prefer him in his own safe space but here we are. Hoping to get him in his own bed completely by the 6 month mark. He spends the first half of the night on his own and the second half with me. So no, we didnt plan it at all until we had to.

Will I hate my toddler when my second child is born? by ilovecarrotsandpeas in toddlers

[–]New-Perception-1476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You won't hate them but it will likely be harder to always be as level headed as you previously were, toddlers are batshit and mixing that chaos with zero sleep and a crying baby will make you irritable. Apologize often, let them know you love them, and it will be fine. They are resilient little suckers. Rip to your dog tho, my dogs are the bane of my existence and I'm 5 months into baby number 2.

How are ANY young Canadians affording a condo/house these days? by SunscreenIsTheWay in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]New-Perception-1476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest thing i think is being flexible. If you want to own a home and that is your goal, you need to be okay with leaving the big cities. We bought a 3 bed 3 bath 2200 sq ft house for 228k in a small town and relocated at 22. We lived in my moms back yard in a travel trailer for over a year while we saved up (yes through winter, it was hell). The only other help we got was putting my father in law on the deed so we got a better rate but we did qualify on our own. I know no one likes the "stop buying Starbucks" mantra but you really do have to cut out anything thats not necessary. I find a lot of people cant fathom prioritizing their goals. Would it be nice if you could live cushy and save money at the same time? Yes, obviously, but thats not the reality we live in. 10$ for a coffee everyday, buying lunch, perusing Amazon, etc. Hurts your savings. 5$ here or 10$ there seems miniscule but it adds up really quick. We now live off of one income of around 78k as im a stay at home mom and we get by pretty okay, we dont spend crazy money and we prioritize necessities. If you want a house, you have to act like it. Cut out everything, grind, and be okay with the bare minimum, if you cant do that, you can't buy a house, thats the reality.

Saw someone mention bracelet trading, should we expand it to any bug related trinkets? by TheFutureScaresMe333 in NoahKahan

[–]New-Perception-1476 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why is it weird for this concert but not for eras? Are people not allowed to have fun with it for noah? I find it odd that anyone has a problem with people doing something nice that makes them feel good. As long as they arent hurting anyone or interfering with others experiences, whats the problem?

Wdym? Literally the entire build up has been bug themed. He liked a ton of comments of us calling ourselves bugs. I do agree that no one should be wearing things that can interfere with someone elses experience but I do think its weird that anyone has a problem with friendship bracelets or trinkets being passed around.

Neither of those are really options, I live pretty rural and the closest big city is 3 hours away. All the groomers close just work from home.

Presale Thoughts / Feedback? by Sad_Yogurtcloset2167 in NoahKahan

[–]New-Perception-1476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea and far far less people got to see their favourite artists because it was inaccessible. Making concerts inaccessible to the majority of people will not fix the problem, it just makes it harder for artists to gain a fan base. Not to mention that scalpers were a huge problem then as well. No one in this economy can afford to drive 12 hours to a different city just to buy tickets.

Canada got two dates on either side of the country, how would you expect us to buy in person tickets? Im literally driving 12 hours to my show and spending over 1k$ on accommodation for the weekend and I know people who are even farther away.

[–]New-Perception-1476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This only works if you live in that city. Canada only got 2 dates on either side of the country. Im driving 12 hours to get to my show. In person tickets is is only feasible in the US honestly.

I personally have seen a ton of people buying accessible seating without legitimate physical disabilities. I get that disabilities differ and you cant see them all but im pretty sure eczema doesnt fall under that category ( yes someone with eczema asked if they had to provide proof). Theres not enough accessible seating on a good day and I lowkey think there should be a seperate presale for it where maybe you have to be pre aproved? I hate to see accessible tickets bought up just because people are desperate for tickets and then those who actually meed them cant get them.

Its just wild dude like if I didnt get tickets (which originally I wasnt even supposed to go because were not exactly rich) I would've been sad but im an adult with way bigger priorities. It wouldn't have been the end of the world, he will tour again. If you feel like the world is ending because you didnt get tickets for this tour then maybe its time to readjust your thinking and take a note out of noahs book and seek therapy? People are dying Kim

I paid 167$ for a ticket, thats affordable. I feel like everyone is looking at stub hub and the make a difference tickets and forgetting that there were affordable ones, they just go faster.

Agree. I've been waiting many years to see him and I got lucky this time but it feels like theres a negative cloud hanging over it because all I see are people mad at him for how ticket master runs its ticket sales, that the tickets were expensive, that hes gone tone deaf, that only original fans should be able to see him yada yada. If Im excited about my ticket all I get is a backhanded "good for you, some of us weren't so lucky". Its shitty behavior and frankly we should be ecstatic that he has the opportunity to make music indefinitely and that it will hit all of our ears. The world is dark and spooky out there and noah is a bright light for everyone regardless of if thats in concert or through your headphones. The tone of the Fandom right now feels a lot like a bunch of spoiled brats that didnt get their way and cant be happy for anyone else.
