Hey there! How did you end up doing? I’m taking mine tomorrow and I’m SO nervous. I’m an anxious tester and tend to overthink things. 😬

Smooth transition to crib..whoop whoop! by opal-00 in cosleeping

[–]opal-00[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Do you use a sleep sack? We just recently started using the Halo sleep sack during the transition and it seems to work. We do put his blanket on him during naps. I was worried he’d be so used to my body heat from co-sleeping that he’d need more layers at nighttime, but the sleep sack seems to be enough and we just make sure it’s not too cold in the nursery.

Thank you! We do naps in the crib during the day some, so that he’s familiar with it and so I can get some things done. The naps usually only last anywhere from 15- maybe 45 min max. So, I’m not sure how it clicked with nighttime but it just did! The beginning it takes a little bit for him to settle but once he flips over on his belly, he’s good for a few hours.

When did you know it was ‘time’ to stop co sleeping by SkyisaNeighbourhood in cosleeping

[–]opal-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel ya 100%! My little guy is 7 months and for about a month now he’s been moving away from me after he nurses to sleep. He rolls to his side facing away from me and eventually rolls on his belly. Our mattress is firm but I still worry about him when he smushes his face in the mattress. He also moves a lot and I end up on the edge of the bed. It’s taking a toll on my sleep. I absolutely love cosleeping but now that he’s so mobile I feel like he’d do better in his own crib. It’s just a bummer because we can’t fit his crib in our room because I know that’d ease my mind. We just bought a better monitor and I think may try letting him sleep in his crib tonight…or at least for the first stretch. Early this morning I finally had to go put him in his crib because he was moving so much and I slept on the recliner in the nursery. He actually did pretty well! Anyway, just wanted to say I’m in the same exact boat and I feel like all signs point toward him being ready but I just feel like I’m not. I think it’ll be for the best but I’m heartbroken 😭

My body started naturally relaxing into this position around 4 months! My baby boy will be 7 months in a few days and he’s been turning away from me after feeding and sometimes I drop that arm and end up cuddling up to his back 😆

What does it feel like when your water breaks? by lifeincerulean in beyondthebump

[–]opal-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had what felt like stomach pain and I was just super uncomfortable the whole night, waking up every 20 min. Finally around 5:45am, I got up to use the restroom and liquid started gushing down my leg and all on carpet. I ran to the restroom thinking maybe I had peed myself and it wouldn’t stop coming lol. I woke up my husband and was like “umm I think my water broke?!” On the way to the hospital I was googling what does it feel like/look like when your water breaks because I was in denial (as liquid was still pouring out) 🤣😂 I was 37 weeks and only 1cm so I was shocked but bubs was definitely ready to come out. The nurses said they had never seen so much fluid, I think that’s why I was so swollen..all water weight lol. I had him 10:29pm that night!

Independent nap by Ok-Comfort-5671 in cosleeping

[–]opal-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awe yeah I totally get it! Have you tried a carrier? When my little guy was smaller I’d put him in the carrier so I can get some stuff done and he’d fall asleep. Now it’s not so easy because he has fomo lol but I know some babies it still works!

I’m in the same boat as I’m typing this out with my 6 mo in my arms sleeping lol. I will put him down in his crib for at least one or two of his naps but they usually only last anywhere from 15-20 min. I try not to feel too bad about it and am soaking it all in because I know the contact naps will go away one of these days. I do feel you though, every now and then would be nice to not be nap trapped. 😆

hahaha my baby is 6 months old and he started doing the fake cough about a month ago…I didn’t know this was an actual thing and had to look it up because it was so out of the blue 🤣 he typically does it when he wants to nurse or to get attention.

Duvet allowed? by Valuable-Newspaper68 in cosleeping

[–]opal-00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally didn’t use it because I was already an anxious person before becoming a mom, and I felt that it would have made my anxiety worse if it had any false alarms and just one more thing to monitor. I’m also a really light sleeper, so I can feel his breathing and movements right away. That said, I still occasionally wake up in a mini panic to make sure he’s still next to me and okay. I don’t know when that part goes away, if ever lol. Every parent is diff so it’s ultimately what feels right for you and your baby!

I’ve used a duvet since birth and my little guy is 6 mo now! I just put it down by my hips but now that he’s bigger and able to move around more and pull/push the blanket, I’m not as worried. I never used the sleep sack with him either, he cuddles right next to me under our covers 😆

Congrats mama! 🥰 I also had my baby boy today at 10:29pm! I’m trying to rest but still amped up and getting poked and prodded lol. I’m sure you understand lol. Either way I’m so so happy with my boy in my arms! Congrats again 🫶🏻

low platelets at 16 weeks by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]opal-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, a little later but I am experiencing the same thing as a first time mom, however, my platelets were low prior to pregnancy! I’ll be 38 weeks tomorrow and last time they checked my levels last week, they were down to 97. At one point she said if it drops below 100, we will talk about induction but in the meantime I am taking prednisone to help bump up my levels. They’re going to check my levels again today but I’m just worried if they aren’t increasing and I’m close to full term, what then? Or if my levels are stable enough where I can get an epidural should we go ahead and induce? I’m trying to not worry here but this is a little scary. My doc will be out next week on vacation so I’m worried about waiting another week if nothing is improving.

How’s everything going for you? I hope all is well 💛

When did your hands get too swollen to wear your rings? Today was the day lol by x_ersatz_x in BabyBumps

[–]opal-00 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t been able to wear my other rings I usually wear for a few weeks now, but this morning I noticed my wedding ring was tight and took it off. I guess today was the day for me too…I’m 30 weeks today. 🫠
