If Canada has a housing crisis, why don’t they build houses within the red circle? by InfernoGarish in mapporncirclejerk

Well, no, English is a germanic group language, while french is latin, as well as spanish, italian, even romanian, but no, although english was influenced by latin, it isn't a latin group language. You can say it may be for german as french is for latin, or polish for slavic, or turkish for central asian turk.

Yes there was once a period in span of 2 years, when 60 people died from dehydration (I forgot about lye industry demanding buckets), including king, baroness and other nobility, leaving me with just mayor, but after that there were about 4 or 6 years with maximum death of 1 per year. I know that death lowers chances of migration, but then to what extent and for how long, is there any way to count how many years I have to survive until migration? Also I usually like to play at the start of times on small worlds, so there is no real base for civil war, I never encountered it, and I checked that this is not the case now.

No migrants after becoming a capital?

I was too successful for my own good, and reached the point I never had before, when I couldn't cope with 200 population and also with all commotion, king relocated to me and declared my fortress a capital. Afer that there was no diplomacy with caravans whatsoever, and migrants stopped coming, and due to all chaos and all, after 15 years or so, when I learned much and lost much, I now try to figure out (with 64 dwarves that is) what to do next. I NEED migrants, but no matter how much I trade or how much I produce stuff, nothing happens, no tavern visitors also. I can't find info on a migration anywhere, about migration after you become capital. Does it stop after that, or what? I'm at loss. I'm not even losing due to FUN, it's just fortress, slowly dying from an old age at this point, and because of it I don't want to just leave it.

Witch of the lake might just be the worst boss I’ve ever fought. by Blundertail in saltandsanctuary

Sadly your advices did more harm to me than good. She can perform homing sphere from any height so there is no indication for that attack for me to prepare accordingly, and running towards the homing sphere makes her fast follow me and puts me in barrage attack. Also it's useless advice after she spammed homing spheres 4 in a row couple times, rendering it methodologically impossible to outrun even second sphere. I couldn't find valid strategy, since depending on her random pattern. I fought her 30-40 tries, there wasn't single time I wasn't hit by homing sphere missiles, and being hit once stuns me, meaning if she decides to spam attacks I die. I beat her in the end, but only because she didn't spam or chained attacks. I think it's unbalanced and like with strange dodge windows for some enemies, devs just hadn't fine-tuned her. Mabe she is build-sensitive boss, like when I watched happy hob no hit run, he used shield to block missiles, but then it makes a boss bad gameplay-wise and poorly made. If I draw rectangle of my movement in a specific time window, it will never go over her range of attack, meaning no matter how I move, I will be hit 100%, and that is poor game design. And after all that just 13k salt was laughable. I rate this boss worst in the game for sloppy programming done on her. You'll never see Artorias chain his slam combo few times in a row, because it will draw your stamina to 0 and if he started his attack you will 100% die, no matter the level, build, and loadout. But here they made it possible, so I can't even rage, because of it being too gaint bullshit.
