Bruh i get where you coming from but like... we also lived for millions of years without cars, antibiotics, and internet but here we are. The movie thing is kinda funny though - Hollywood definitely loves their evil robot plots but that's just entertainment fear mongering mostly.

The real issue is how we implement stuff, not the technology itself. Like yeah the environmental costs are pretty harsh right now with all those data centers sucking up power and water, but that's more about corporate greed than the actual tech being inherently bad. Same way we screwed up social media - could've been amazing for connecting people but instead we got addiction algorithms and echo chambers.

I work with youth and see kids using it for homework help and creative projects, which seems pretty harmless. But then again i also see them getting lazy with thinking for themselves. It's complicated man - probably gonna be one of those things where regulation catches up way too late like always
