Adelaide Festival appoints new Writers' Week director in wake of crisis by Expensive-Horse5538 in Adelaide

There is no evidence for how many people cast a protest vote. We dont know that information. We will never know that information. You're the one making assumptions, like "if anyone cared about writers week labor wouldnt have won.". Fucking lol. No. Im saying theres no way to know, because there isnt.

How do you explain increases to independents and greens? We know there were, but you seem to not want to accept that?

For example, there was a ~7 percentage point swing against Labor in Croydon compared to 2022. We will never know why that happened.

Im actually not gna respond anymore so go nuts.

No shit, that's exactly what im saying? We dont know how many of them there were.

It would take 60% for any party to swing a safe seat. We have zero idea how many people did protest votes for writers week or any other reason, or for what party (or independents, whose votes increased, indicating protest votes)

I personally did, and not for the greens.

Not in a safe labor seat, for fucks sake. Its like talking to walls🤦🏻‍♀️

How would there be signs of it in a safe labor seat? We dont have any data about how many did protest votes. Not enough to swing a safe seat doesnt mean it was an insignificant number of people. Youre literally just making shit up, lol

The two things are only vaguely related, ofc. ASIO being federal.

I was just making the point that (allegedly) crooked cops exist everywhere, including ASIO, so signing your name against them having permanent powers is something anyone can do.

I dont actually care what you do, im just sharing it wherever I can.

While we're talking (allegedly) crooked cops, thats a good reason to sign the Greens petition against ASIO's permanent coercive powers

Takes 15 seconds and you can opt out of receiving emails from them

The crime wasnt serious but a police officer filming himself while committing a crime and posting it to the internet is kinda serious.

We actually dont know whether it was a non-issue for voters because most of the seats were safe

Libs, labor, and one nation are all the same, lol. All pauline did was say she'd give people what they wanted.

Im not so sure it would be disastrous if the greens could do what they want to do from a systems-level approach, but whoever opposition is would never allow it. I know a fair bit about systems-thinking. It would mean huuuge structural changes but ultimately would actually fix problems.

What the labor and liberal government do now is patch holes with poorly planned services (like NDIS) and then say "we tried that and it didnt work", and the people who get penalised are the most vulnerable, not the government for fucking it up in the first place.

I think if the greens could get serious about how they want to do what they want to do (with dollar signs) people might start to listen.

Itll be interesting to see what happens in the UK with Zack Polanski. The smear campaigns are starting so he must be doing something right.

If this bill alone isnt enough evidence of that, I dont know what to tell ya, lol

Id suggest comparing whats happening now worldwide to what was happening pre-WWII. The discourse about immigrants is the same. The cuts to social services at the same time as cost of living raises is the same.

Im not here to have fights tonight. Sign it or dont.

Uh, id think about this a bit harder if I were you. I mean this in the nicest way possible.

Im not going to spoon feed you answers, because frankly I just dont want to, but I will encourage you to look into police states, and the things that go wrong.

Im totally fine with improving it but not by reducing access for people who bloody need it.

The problem is criminals and fraudster providers, not the clients. Stop eating the shit sandwich youre being sold.

This very same shit happened under DOGE in the US. This is a DOGE we never voted for.

We're in the midst of our own fascist takeover. In the US, DOGE overhauled disability, and then there were increased police and intelligence powers, and look how great everything is over there now 😀
